I see your reason g but you ré giving the teams going down more credit that the teams coming up. I would say that Nayo would be ranjed higher than both Galway and the Rossies at the moment.

I would drop Roscommon down a place and put Mayo in their place. However, Mayo have played two very poor teams in Down and Westmeath and a Meath team who are difficult to place considering they beat WM by 1. Galway and Roscommon have played the two best teams in the country and lost which is what would have happened to every other team in D1 and definitely all teams in D2.

There are 2 or 3 wild funny Donegal lads on here who are seriously triggered by Mayo. My best guess would be it's the same poster.

Mayo would have to be above us currently. Hopefully we get a chance to change that in the championship, but based on the past 12 months they're definitely ahead. They've beaten us twice, one of which was hammering. The Connacht final was very tight, but they still edged it. They got to the All-Ireland final and have just been promoted while we've gone down. How I'd power rank the top football teams; Kerry15 (Kerry) - Posts: 957 - 15/06/2021 22:18:35 2351293 Link 0 |
Interesting. Cork ahead of Limerick? Why Tipp so low when they beat Galway? I'd put Limerick first then Tipp then Galway. Kilkenny and Waterford has to be up there too. The rest are a coin flip.

This is a waste of time. Mayo got to the All Ireland final and have consistently been the closest to Dublin over the past 10 years or so. First of all, people on here put too much credence on League, and secondly, Dublin were the only Division 1 team in the all ireland semi finals last year. Two of those are now in division 4. You say all of division 2 would not have got near the top two. Well I'd say based on evidence of recent seasons, Mayo are the only team in division 1 & 2 likely to be competitive against them. Mayo at number 3 at least, until after championship. BaldyBadger (Cork) - Posts: 311 - 15/06/2021 22:32:41 2351297 Link 4 |

Goes to show how utterly useless and meaningless these pre season rankings are. In the real world Limerick are no.1, Galway no.2, Tipp no. 3, and after that it's down to personal preferences for 4th, 5th, 6th etc

Ranking are a waste of time. Everyone's at the staging line now together. Championship is all that matters. There are no medals handed out at this time of year. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11227 - 15/06/2021 22:46:00 2351307 Link 9 |
This must be a joke ? Mayo 9th? Must have been dreaming that we were all-Ireland runners up not too long ago and unbeaten in Division 2 while blooding lots of new players.

Literally impossible to rank the hurling teams right now and there's no point either. Based on 2021 only then you'd probably be right to have Galway and maybe Kk second but no clue after that. Everyone has had good and bad results but it's hard to know who's disappointed really - with maybe the exception of laois. Limerick would have been probably a little worried had they not beaten Cork but they did and looked good but it's impossible to take much from that game either. From a. Tipp perspective I'd argue that it's a good thing we lost to Waterford as any year we have any success we've also had to get a kick up the arse at some point so hopefully it works to our advantage. While Galway have racked up massive scores and I had them second favourites I now actually believe Waterford are the main threat to limerick - if injuries don't end up costing them. They have noticeably got stronger, bigger and maybe even faster and fitter than last year. There has been a lot of doom and gloom after a fairly poor league but I'm really looking forward to what is one of the most open championships I have seen anyway. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 16/06/2021 06:14:48 2351332 Link 0 |
It could be because I would rate Mayo above Donegal currently until Donegal can actually make the final again and deliver on their potential.
