Didn't know Republic had 5 times the population of the North. You learn something new everyday.

On another note the traveling to games now for players and management are going to cause lots of problems logistically and social distance wise. Maybe the gaa should look at neutral venues at the mó to facitate these problems. For example Kerry play Monaghan soon away. That's at least over 8 hours of travelling round trip. How do the ream and management travel safely? In a bus? I don't have answers. Are Donegal expected to go to Kerry in a bus? Dublin to Galway? It's a tricky situation for the intercounty teams at mo

RTE keep telling us to Social distance, Wash the hands, Wear masks and also stay within the county boundaries. All fair enough. Yesterday though they send a newsteam from Dublin to Derry. To interview Colm Eastwood of the Sdlp!

Replying To CiarraiMick:  "I think Fionn Fitzgerald Mom from Dublin and yes Nathan Mullins did play for Donegal and hoping for a recall I hear. Brian Mullins uncle Bill Casy won a few all ireland with Kerry. A big strong man I believe like Brian. I read that before about Mcbrearty (great player) Kieran Donaghy Dad a proud Tyrone man and Kerry s Ger Powers Dad Jackie won hurling all Irelands with Limerick. Ciarán Kilkenny s grandad wax Sean Purcell of Galway(that many older folk say was one of the greatest ever) and of course of our Kerrt s finest hurlers Darragh Ó Connell now hurling with Dublin and Cuala. The gaa is one big family."
Never knew that Ciara Kilkenny's grandad was Sean Purcell! I live and learn!

There is exemptions for necessary staff. What else should they do?

We'll know more after the two league games obviously. It has been very quiet with regard to injuries, fitness etc from the Donegal camp. But an educated guess below...

1. Patton

2. McGrath
3. N McGee
4. McMenamin

5. Ban Gallagher
6. O'Baoíll
7. McHugh

8. J McGee
9. McFadden

10. J Brennan
11. Langan
12. Thompson

13. McBrearty
14. Murphy
15. Gallen

You would have to wonder what level of satisfaction/disappointment a county could gain from winning/losing an all Ireland under the present set up. Makes you wonder is it worth it with no fans etc, for me its a no.

When did you that analysis/. I think ye need to go back to the blackboard and start counting again. We have a situation in the 26 counties where maybe up to 30% of close contacts were not going to get tested, so we do not know the real number. We do know that the population ratio between the 6 counties and 26 counties is somewhere closer to 1:3. Most of the increase in the border counties has very little to do with the border (a line on a piece of paper does not carry a virus) but as usual it is easy for 'an ill informed media' to go with it, as they did at the beginning of the virus when relating to the higher figures in Cavan. Leitrim has a land border with the north but levels are very low. It may be correct to go for level 4 in those 3 counties , however when the number was as high in some parts of Dublin-level 4 was not considered. Everyone should abide by the rules of social distancing/washing hands and being careful at all times.

They only want to hold the Championship because the Premier League is being played in England, encouraging people to congregate drinking in houses to watch the bore fests.

Why is the Dublin Westmeath game still fixed for Portlaoise? Surely Westmeath should insist on home advantage in Mullingar for this game seeing as capacity isn't an issue now.

I'd say it won't be far off it. But there are lads like Caolan Ward, Niall O'Donnell, Caolan McGonigle and Eamon Doherty who Bonner likes and trusts for certain games so I wouldn't be surprised if any of those were in the starting 15 either.

How about your lads? Will the likes of Peter Crowley be back involved? Her was a big loss for yez last year.
Will the older Clifford brother be in the reckoning? I was very impressed by him any time I saw him play in the Kerry championship.

On Thursday, the Leinster Council announced it will take place in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise, rather than in the Lake County's home venue, something which disappoints McCarthy.

"We played there (Portlaoise) before. It'll be fine, it is what is, but it probably makes more sense to play it in Cusack Park in Westmeath and I don't know why they're not doing that, it doesn't make much sense," he added.

I think it is really dependent on the type of games we get. If the players are going hell for leather and the quality is good, I think you wouldn't be able to help but get sucked in to it.

I couldn't think of Niall ó Donnell name Last night when looking at your team, he played centre forward against us last year till he got a harsh black card but was Oisín Gallen that came in for him played a blinder scoring a couple and setting up a couple more? He's 1 il be keeping a good eye on this year.

As for us ya Peter Crowley is back and like you say was an awful loss to us last year as we could have done with his strength and experience especially in the final.

Paud Clifford is an excellent centre forward for his club and district so it'll be interesting to see if he can make an impact at senior, he'll have to move to the wing forward though because of O'Shea but he's some passer of the ball he has David's vision but not his physique.

Westmeath should refuse to play it there. What is the council's reasoning behind playing it in a neutral venue, with zero crowd? It's bizarre, and more bizarre Westmeath are meekly going along with it

because they don't want to be setting any precedents that may come back to haunt them in the future.

far easier for them to continue on with their rubbish by doing it this way so they just have 2 counties travel in a time when we are supposed to be restricting movements.

The Leinster Council's silliness and ineptitude has long baffled the most learned of people.

No point trying to decipher their bizarre reasoning. Maybe something to do with the TV broadcast.

Expect Westmeath to receive complete radio silence from their friends in Louth who played Dublin in a neutral venue last year, and their friends in Wicklow who complained about the same problem in 2018, and their friends in Carlow who were upset by the very same issue in 2017 and or course not forgetting their friends in Laois who complained long and hard about this exact same issue in 2016.
