It's not a vicious attack or deeply personal jibe at him, just that he doesn't think he's the best commentator. It's also not in any way knocking the man for the work he does within the county to promote the games at all. Personally I like Ciaran and think he does a grand job on commentary but he's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and slating someone for saying that is just sad!!"
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. But maybe sometimes it's better not to air it on a public forum apropos of nothing. It is certainly not vicious or deeply personal, but it is very mean spirited and snide. I have no doubt most of the thousands of people who got to view the championship games over the last few months would agree.

Jesus lads grab a snickers quick
My comments were made tongue in cheek
I know Ciaran from being at many games and find him a grand lad doing a great job over the years
I actually tried to put a smiley face at end of my message but it obviously not compatible with this web site as it would not send until I removed it
Get a grip on yourselves and stop being so priccy

So the week of the final and I am sure the build up to it in Kells and Ratoath will be great! It has obviously been a strange championship to go with a strange year and the final will be equally strange given the restrictions on numbers but at least it will be on TV and those lucky enough to be in the ground should be in for an interesting affair.

I think it is going to be a close encounter - I certainly don't see there being 10 points in it. I think it will be hard fought and it could be niggly enough. Kells might have the benefit of a full weeks training last week while Ratoath were building for their hurling semi. From what I can see there is a fair crossover of players between the hurlers and footballers in Ratoath - but at least they had a relatively easy game of that.

I am going to stick my neck out and go for a Ratoath win by 3 points. I think they have lads playing who have become use to winning - Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Minor 21s etc. I think both teams are very fit and both have strong benches (Kells surprised me in this against Na Fianna) but I think Ratoath will edge it (just)

Kells bench definitely looking a lot more dangerous than the previous few years.

Ratoath for me too. They had a scare v simonstown and then comfortably put summerhill away. They also have the Wallace brothers available if needed. I don't thnk there will be much between them though.

Just listened to Con Cleary on the "We are Meath" Podcast, Kell's are really up for this they sound well organised and focused on what they need to do to win,, this is going to be a Cracker of a Final and are lucky that this is on TG4. Won't be a Kick of a Ball in it, still feel with Ratoath's bench & experience of winning Finals will get them over the line but just by the minimum and might go to extra time.

Listened to Con on the Podcast as well, got the same feeling from it...sounds like they are extremely focused and determined to deliver a massive performance come Sunday.

Think Kells will go very close at the weekend, don't see the any more than a point or two in it. Should be a cracker.

From a Kells point of view, this one is very hard to predict. In last year's semi, Ratoath got on top of midfield in the second half.. Joey wallace then called the shots with the steady supply of possession he got from this. Ratoath were clearly the better side.
Kells have kicked on this year, they are somewhat stronger in midfield. They are tough defensively and when the forwards click, not many can live with them. Their bench is also quite strong. They can blow hot and cold in games though and can look off their best for long periods. Are Ratoath playing as well as they did last year? They will have to be better than that to beat Kells this time. Id expect both Wallaces to be thrown in to the fray in the second half at least. But midfield as ever is key, If Kells can keep parity there i'd expect them to win. Kells by 2

Midfield will be key.kells given away height advantage there.na fianna looked to have targeted the throw ins.could have got goals there to.if kells dont give up those and goalie is smart with his kickouts i think could go the distance.shoul b a cracker.

There won't be a lift thumbed out of Kells for weeks if Gaeil Colmcille win on Sunday.

Well done to both teams today, very good game considering the weather, that's the sort of miserable day where a county final can end in single digit scores.

Very well done to Ratoath, a heartstopping finish to the game, big hail mary into the box (well directed by the way) and Wallace pounced on it. Hard luck to Kells, that's a horrible way to lose any game much less a county final, hopefully they can bounce back and come again.

In the last 10 minutes today, we had a level game, a red card, a penatly and a last minute goal to win by a point....that's about as entertaining of a finish to a game as you can get.

Again, well done and thank you to both teams.

Taught Kells were robbed by the ref playing 2 mins overtime, not letting advantage play out and some dodgy calls.
But in all respect Ratoath never stopped and kept at it
