Na the rebels did not play. Thought Ratoath deserved to win. Better side won but I would not say they played very well. Loads of errors and turnovers. Summerhill bit toothless up to in inside line . Not really a scoring threat. Interesting to see how tomorrow's match goes. Have to fancy Kells.

Good win for Ratoath, any day you reach a county final is always a good day. Never thought Summerhill hit the form of past years this time round but as I said before with everything that's going on that can't be seen as a major surprise, Ratoath still haven't hit top gear either but overall have the better players and overall quality, but whoever they meet in the final will provide a stern test. As an aside heartiest congratulations to the neighbours in Curraha, another year in the senior ranks awaits and this should be seen as a really fine achievement, I don't think too many thought that when they won the Intermediate in 2017 that they would last the pace in the Senior ranks but they have proved their worth and deserve great credit.

I must be the first man to tip Na Fianna, just how I like it. I think a lot depends on Na Fianna's tactics. They need to overload their forward line and go for it from the off. Shane Walsh needs to start in the forward line. If he does, I think a shock is in store.
Either way, both teams are playing to be the bridesmaid as Ratoath won't be beaten.

Hard to see Summerhill making big impressions again for a few years. Few great servants staring into the winter of their career. When I think of Ratoath, I usually think Wallaces, McMahon, but it was the fringe players that stood out again yesterday. Jack Gillespie - where did he come from?! Gavin McGowan - a fabulous player. Jack Flynn - powerful. And while I'm at it - Shane Duffy at 40 still has the best kick of a ball in the County, what's that about! Fine team... two fine teams. Hard luck to Summerhill, their underage talent will see them come again in due course.

Speaking of young talent... I expect a few young players from Enfield to make their mark today!

It is disappointing for sure. Hard to get moving when you're in a rut. Not sure that going Inter would solve the problem either. Meath intermediate is very competitive so no guarantees of an early return to senior. Hopefully we can win the Nobber game and keep the flag flying until the emerging talent at minor level gets a chance to transition.

I dont think anyone from the kells team has been making any grand claims. They did their talking on the pitch today when it counted. Interesting final on the cards now. Kells couldn't live with joey wallace in the semi last year. Will ratoath be tempted to bring him back i wonder.

Incredible collapse by Na Fianna. Well done to Kells. They pulled it out of the bag when it looked certain that they'd fall short yet again.

Think humble pie needed on the page.....Kells finished the game really well. Fair play to Na Fianna, really went at them.
Really looking forward to this final. Both really good footballing teams with a purpose of pushing the attacking game. Farrell with loads of talent both on the pitch and a strong bench. Wall with 6 forwards that on their day can reek havoc.
At last a county final that won't have a favourite. Really hard to predict this one.
Neutrals dream final. Won't be any more than a score in it.
Best of luck to both of them.

Maybe in your head there wont be a clear favourite but Ratoath will be clear favourites, probably will be 1/2 in the bookies.

How can there be no clear favourite? Would have thought Ratoath would be favourites with most people who watch football.

Kells mafia out in force again. Seems one isn't allowed make a prediction. Anyone who takes a look at Twitter will see it full of people making claims right left and centre about kells, even people from other clubs talking nonsense about them. All of North meath seem to latch to them. Says a lot about the state of play that side of the county.

Ratoath V Kells and there won't be a kick of ball between them in final. It's hard to know what to make of Ratoath . I think were much better V Summerhill , controlled the game better but perhaps Simonstown deserve credit because they exposed some serious failings in the Ratoath side and almost beat them that day. So Kells will know there in with a big chance.

As for Kells I expected them to win with something in hand and they did in the end. They do finish strong which could be key on county final day but I was very surprised they seemed to struggle with Na Fianna and were 6 behind at one stage in 2nd half. No disrespect to Na Fianna

I am not so sure they can afford to give Ratoath a 6 point lead. Kells have 3 good forwards but Ratoath have more scoring forwards and Ben And Gavin McGowan are big scoring threats too from 9 and 6.

If it's tight with 10 to go I tip Kells . If they are chasing a deficit of 5 or 6 in 2nd half I don't see Ratoath coughing up a lead like that . I suppose I guess Ratoath might grab the lead in this final and they may just hang on . But they need to improve

If we can get a lead like Na Fianna did yesterday, I cannot see us being beaten. Kells were absolutely atrocious for the first 35 minutes of the game. However, if Kells get a lead like they did against Dunboyne (or indeed like Simonstown had against us), then they have the discipline in defence to hold us off while picking off scores on the break. Especially if neither Wallace plays. They were the difference in the semi final. I was impressed with our long range point scoring on Saturday which is a good way of beating a mass defence.
One area that's vital for us to improve is our tackling within the 45. Had Barry Dardis been on form from placed balls, it would have been a much closer game. Neither Mattimoe nor Hanlon would miss some of the frees Dardis missed on Saturday.

I'm cautiously optimistic while also being worried for the final. Lar Wall would have learned a lot from last years semi final defeat. And Ratoath are raging hot favourites so they have nothing to lose. If we're not on it from the start, the game could be gone from us.
