The anti-SF clowns on this site have to ponder more about democracy. The largest party on the island will have a huge say in our future and always demonstrate respect for our games and our culture. I don't care who you vote for.

I needed a good laugh. And you provided it. Btw 75% of voters in the second Lowest turn out in our democracy (one sf only recently recognised) didn't vote for them.

You would actually up sticks and leave based on what political party is power? Less of the hyperbole please.

100% of the voters in the six counties didn't vote for Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.

SF don't need do a huge amount in opposition currently, because the current administration are doing it for them with their complete ineptitude on a lot of issues since it was cobbled together in June.

Over 50% voted for a unionist party so I won't pay heed to what those in another jurisdiction voted for. If they happy to vote for those who covered up abuse then that's their conscience they have to live with. It will NEVER be mine or the vast majority of people in our jurisdiction.

Go read a bit more on your coveted free state parties. FF covered up abuse by one of its own members for years. FG involved in witness tampering on a similar case. You'd have to be extremely naive to believe any political party are anywhere near as clean as they'd like you to believe.

More partitionist nonsense.....always interesting it comes from counties who generally sat on their hands throughout the War of Independence and other periods.... also can you tell me what the 50% unionist parties are as last time I checked the Alliance didnt designate themselves as Unionist but hey why let the truth get in the way of a partitionist rant.

If that's your criteria I presume you're a Soc Dem or PBP voter so. Maybe Greens.

I didn't have you down as a Looney left, environmentalist RD.

It takes all I suppose.

Without wishing to break forum rules, there was a huge crash in 2007/2008. Under the FFg government. And now under Fine Gael we have the Covid 19 Crash of our economy too.

Sometimes you would wonder how the Gaa president comes up with his announcements. "Teams will be asked to withdraw from their respective competition in the event of an outbreak." That is the cue for them to hide any cases. So if one of the teams in the final has a case do the other team get the tittle? These off the cuff statements do not inspire confidence and smacks of flying by the seat of the pants.

Despite the Virus, Corofin and St Thomas's both look ruthless and have been hammering teams in Galway. Hopefully inter county will be just as safe (so far) if it ever gets started.

Absolutely. Their approach to personal taxation would make it impossible to live here to be honest.

Rarely will a president have to deal with a cross over between a massive public interest concern and the GAA like there is today and I would say from the word go it has not been something he has done well or perhaps it just something he is not equipped to do well. For me this is an example of the message getting lost in the words. There are GAA guidelines that need to be followed which if followed would ensure that if one player in the squad gets it the whole team does not have to pull out unless for some reason they didn't follow the guidelines and made far more members of the squad close contacts. So to me what he is saying is don't expect any sympathy from us if you do not follow the guidelines. I can never imagine an inter-county player doing house parties etc but its clear to them that they will need to impose a self imposed bubble for the duration of the championship.

Would you not be worried that those Mayo hooligans might infect the Corofin lads (not the goalie obviously!) with the Virus to weaken the county team in the run up to the NFL relegation decider.

My apologies. Shouldn't be answering political views with my counter arguments. Not the forum for that THANKFULLY. Back to my beloved royal county gaa arguments.

We have to find a way to live with this virus, we cannot be locked away for an indefinite period. I was in Dublin City Centre saturday and it is a ghost town, shopping area's are empty, no one is going into the city. Similarly with the GAA there has to be a way to keep games activity going or we will have a social/economic crisis like no other.

Well I'm from Limerick and the county didn't sit on its hands in the War of Independence. I would be considered a partitionist by you in that Im happy to have Northern Ireland and Ireland living happily together on one Island. Whats striking to me is that you have Southerners supporting a SF party thats run from a different country. Fellas from Galway and Kerry identifying with West Belfast people. Its crazy. Its left wing ludicrous policies arent even the main issue. SF history of criminality and disloyalty to whatever state they live in is my issue.
I dont see any equivalence between our FF and FG parties and SF. SF would push us towards a terrible border poll which would be devisive. Id vote status quo anyway. The GAA should keep well clear of Republicanism because 75% of irish people have little time for it.
