the layout of the main page isnt great but other than that i think its ok

No mention of a prelim round. Weekend of 14th/15th March is reserved for back games so might do a prelim game on 29th Feb/1st March and then a quarter final on the weekend for back games

Anything out of last nights meeting?

Can someone please explain how on the calendar that has done the rounds, there was games down for next weekend, yet there is no fixtures up on the website? Other counties have started and teams don't even know where they stand. Sligo CCC and CB yet again holding themselves in a very poor light in relation to the club game here.

I know emails have gone in but sure like any email that does, I don't think there will be much a reply

We had a club meeting last week our delegate said that for some reason a few on the county board wanted the clubs to have another look at the proposed fixtures at the last county board even though they had 10 days at that stage. So hard to see why clubs agreed to it. The new gang said that fixtures would begin on first weekend in March.

Should be togging out for first round of league this weekend. You'd f*****g miss it boy. Hope everyone is keeping safe at home.

Anyone know if there have been any meetings with regards a potential return date and new fixture list/new format to finish season in time?

I'd be shocked if you don't seem some action. Pitches will be in prime shape and I actually think the longer this drags out, the more likely there will be no inter county which would increase the likelihood of clubs playing something. Maybe I'm speaking more in hope...

Pitches might be in great shape but I'd say teams mightn't be able to say the same! I don't think we'll see any GAA until August or September at earliest and at that stage what ya can play only a knockout championship maybe? There's too much risk involved. You can't have social distancing in a contact sport and it's not like the premiership or rugby where paid professionals can be isolated in in-house camps so they can continue their season.

Unless the rates of infection drop drastically I don't see GAA happening. Sports, pubs and other entertainment will probably be the last wave to be reinstated unfortunately!

Any word on what's happening with club fixtures now that there's a national plan in place? Knockout could throw up a few surprises if that's what is picked.

The championship is going ahead. Let's hope that there won't be any reason to abandon it in a few weeks. For health reasons I would much rather a straight knockout competition but then money talks and with club Sligo abandoned for this year revenue has collapsed. With games thick and fast a straight red card will have huge implications and there will be a lot more injuries due to players fitness levels not at the normal standard. Interesting times ahead.

Any early predictions after the Championship draw? Two very interestingly poised groups.
No quarter finals should make every match meaningful.

They've made it very interesting with no quarters this year which is probably no harm anyway as last year was daft having 4 qualifying from group of 5. So some progress at least!

You'd be thinking Tourlestrane are certs to qualify probably with winner of Coolera and Mullinabreena game joining them. I'd tip Coolera.

In other group any three of Tubber, Shamrock Gaels and Mary's but think Mary's could be pipped by the other two. Very hard to know how anyone is fixed with no league.

As for Intermediate we'll Curry and Molaise would be my favourites in group one with Farnan's ahead of the pack in group two. After that it's anyone guess bar Michaels. Don't think we'll see any team from group 2 in the final tbh.

I see a few Co board's are making club championship games an All ticket affair. Considering that our Co Board meeting finished abruptly due to a heated debate,, mainly about egos I can't see that working for us. Clubs have no guidelines for crowd control at games, who takes responsibly for running the game and how are clubs supposed to sanitise facilities afterwards.

I suppose it'd be a good idea alright if ya could get to two or three games at the weekend but knowing our lot that won't happen. What happened at co board? Surely above all years they should be pulling together this year!

I suppose what sanitising has to be done bar the dressing rooms as everything else is outdoors and I suppose really all clubs should have been doing a proper clean of dressing rooms anyway in years gone by with all the bacteria athletes foot etc. Looking forward to games all the same some tasty ones to start off!
