Who will take over now Gavin is gone? Whoever it is they've huge boots to fill.

If Darcy stays he deserves a go. He's been a magnificent servant to this era of success

Gavin's right hand man since 02-03 and carries vast experience

Knows the ethic, team, and dedication required inside out.

Joe Brolly has to take over. Loves talking about and watching Dublin plus he's free to do so after RTÉ sacked him.

On Jim Gavin!
An outstanding manager irrespective of the talent he had at his disposal. Look Dublin aren't going to go away, not with the natural and unnatural advantages they enjoy and not to forget the dearth of genuine opposition. On a successor, and I'm probably far from alone in thinking this but Stephen Cluxton has been a future Dublin manager in waiting. I think the waiting might be over - my tip is Stephen Cluxton to step down as a player and take over as Dublin manager.

I expect Declan Darcy would be the front runner if he is interested in stepping up.

I suppose with a foot in both camps he could keep the score down when the Dubs meet Kildare in the Leinster championship!

(How many red thumbs will I get for this!!!)

Dessie is the obvious choice. Mick Bohan may show interest but Dessie knows the lads, so on the face of it he would seem a better fit. It's as much about the back room unit these days so will be interesting to see who the wingmen are for whoever steps up to the plate.

I was told Gavin wants Paul Clarke to get it, apparently had that vision for the last few years and has been moulding him for the role.

Not sure Clarkey is the man for the job to be honest. I reckon it is between Dessie Farrell and Mick Bohan, with some of the current backroom guys staying on.

Would be sounding out Pat Gilroy if it was me. Proven performer and the one who turned the ship around in the first place

The job is Dessie Farrells if he wants to take it on. Good underage experience and knows the ropes.
