What aggression . Im gauging both teams on knockout football against another sine 2012-2017 .. The stats point to the late benches contribution being the key difference between both groups over this period of time against each other. Your adding up every game to cast aside any idea of a potential /apparent upset that may happen today. Fear is a strong word i agree with but i didnt quote it. My friend, heres a stat for you Tyrone have played 8 games of championship knock-out rounds against Mayo/Tyrone/and Dublin sine 2010.. Guess how many victories Wee Micky and his troops pulled off against those 3 ? NB Youve played all 3 on more than one occasion...................... Where are you going with "dont bottle it"?? If mayo get well bet it will be because of the dubs being a superior team. Now take a Look at Tyrone record against Mayo and Dublin since 2012.

If Fergal starts. That Mayo HF line would be seriously disadvantaged physically vis-à-vis the Dubs HB line, plus Fergal wouldn't be likely to contribute too many scores (he's a bit of Mark McHugh type). The Dubs on the other hand have gone for a FB line to cope with Mayo's ball winning ability in the FF line (all 3 Mayo FFs over 6'). I don't think the potential wet conditions will be much of an advantage to Mayo... it'd be an advantage against teams who are physically weaker. The wind could be more of a problem for both teams (a game of two halves), although the Dubs like to shoot from very close in, so the wind won't be so disruptive for sub-35m shots. I think Mayo will start with at least two different players from the named 15. The Dubs might make a change or two as well, just to shake things up (maybe even Connolly to come in). There are likely to be defensive mistakes by both sides today and whoever exploits these best (especially an early one) will be heading for the final.

You could be right but I personally think that will be the team, I'm think Horan wants a strong bench at the end. Anyway all the best to everyone have a great day and of course Up The Dubs...... clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 10/08/2019 12:55:05 2223349 Link 5 |

Very apt thank you as he really has played his part, given the role/position though it reflects very poorly & really is an indictment on the rest of the Association.

The beginning of this match Dublin have 13 men behind the ball...just saying. Wally (Tyrone) - Posts: 912 - 10/08/2019 17:03:32 2223423 Link 5 |
Very defensive from Dublin all right. And if that's not enough, the way things are going either team will be lucky to finish with 15 men still on the field. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3097 - 10/08/2019 17:24:48 2223427 Link 1 |
Great performance by Mayo in first half but will 2 point lead be enough? Fully expect Dublin to go into fifth and sixth gear in second half, will Mayo the able to live with it? Can't wait for second half ballydalane (Kilkenny) - Posts: 1246 - 10/08/2019 17:44:28 2223428 Link 1 |
Very intense first half; if Dublin go on and lose this their tactics will definitely be part of the conversation. One thing to die with your boots on, but when you've got your entire team in your own half against a team as aggressive as Mayo, you're asking for trouble. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3097 - 10/08/2019 17:45:17 2223429 Link 0 |
If Mayo can keep up this efficiency in attack and their legs keep up with Dublin, they have this. 2 big ifs but it's in yer hands lads! JoeSoap (Donegal) - Posts: 1432 - 10/08/2019 17:48:15 2223431 Link 0 |
