A big damper after a brilliant day Sunday. We don't really have much cover for an inside forward. It's bound to have a big effect on team morale too. Paddy was always there. Gutted for Padd, has been exceptional all year. Hope he recovers and bounces back just as strong. As for our chances of advancing from the super 8's, they have just taken a serious nose dive. FFS Desperate news What a class player. We've had our own set backs with that poxy injury over the last few seasons. O'Gara, O'Brien, Kilkenny, Brogan, McCaffrey.. Hate saying it but I agree with you there. If we were to beat Dublin, in my mind it meant Paddy having a similar performance as to the one he had in the league. Without him I don't see any of the rest of our forwards scoring the 0-6 or 0-7 that Paddy might have. The news is so disappointing. We were all on a high after Sunday and eagerly awaiting the Super 8's. It will be up to Declan and his team now to rally the troops and come up with an alternative. a team capable of dining at the top table should not be relying on one player. Donegal's loss is immense because they are not at the top table, unlike other counties such as my own. All slagging and banter aside, that's awful for him as he's a top quality forward who deserves to be playing in big games at the business end of the season in Croker. Was really looking forward to seeing him in the big games coming up, very few forwards of his class playing these days. Hopefully he has a full recovery and is back entertaining us all next summer. Donegal are not reliant on McBrearty to execute their game plan. But having a player of his quality, unlike other counties such as your own, is worth a few crucial points extra per game. Devastated for Paddy, he's been in such great form and with all the support he was getting inside this year you could see him starting to really flourish.
