Cavan got their Lory Meagher Cup campaign off to a flying start this afternoon by recording a 30-point victory against Warwickshire at Páirc na hÉireann, Birmingham.
Sean Keating (2), Nicholas Kenny, and Eamon Og McAllister struck the goals in an emphatic 4-32 to 1-11 victory for the visitors who laid down an early marker in the competition here.
Keating and Kenny bagged the Breffni men’s first two goals inside the opening 20 minutes as they moved towards an unassailable 2-17 to 0-5 half-time lead.
The one-way traffic continued for the majority of the second-half prior to Jordan Conway grabbing a late consolation goal for Warwickshire ahead of Rian Delaney and Keating rounding off Cavan’s final tally with points at the other end.
Ollie Bellew's side will be back action in six days’ time when welcome neighbours Monaghan to Kingspan Breffni, while Warwickshire travel to face Longford on the same afternoon with the Midlanders having crushed Lancashire by 4-21 to 0-16 in their respective opener yesterday.
