Jason Ryan is the new manager of 11-in-a-row Waterford hurling kingpins Ballygunner.

The former Wexford football manager replaces Darragh O’Sullivan who has stepped down after six years hugely successful years in charge. Under O’Sullivan, Ballygunner were untouchable within their own county and also won an historic three-in-a-row of Munster club SHC titles and the All-Ireland in 2022 following a last-gasp victory over Ballyhale Shamrocks.

A former Waterford footballer, Jason Ryan managed Wexford from 2008 to ’12, during which they reached an All-Ireland SFC semi-final and two Leinster SFC finals. He is currently a Wexford hurling selector under Keith Rossiter and has also been recently involved with Waterford development squads.
