Cork GAA is in mourning following the passing of former county and Sarsfields hurler Ray Ryan.
Brother of current Cork senior hurling manager Pat Ryan, Ray helped Sarsfields to county SHC glory in 2008 and went on to win three more county titles with his club in 2010, 2012 and 2014, lining out at centre back in all four finals.
He was a member of the Rebel County’s senior hurling panel from 2009 to 2011, captaining the team in '09, and started in the 2010 All-Ireland SHC quarter-final against Antrim.
