Replying To wexford2012:  "Feeling quiet nervous now lads, a massive game for us and a big one for Dublin too. The Cork game rattled me. Granted we were missing Lee and some others but when the pressure came on, our rising stars looked to need more time to develop and do the gym work needed to compete today. Its something like 15 years since we have beaten Dublin so you could say its overdue but will this poor run continue? I would like to see us come our in tigerish form from the off, really putting down markers all over the pitch, making Wexford Park the fortress it should be picking up from the Kilkenny game last June. For Keith and the lads I really hope the efforts they've put in this past 6 months or so pays off but I'll be going more in hope than expectation."
Agree 100%. We need to attack the game from the start.
As regards the Cork game we were missing some of the best of the rising stars who did well in the League. Lawlor, CBD, Tucker, Niall Murphy, Patsy etc didn't start that game against Cork.

Championship week has arrived. Alot of people seem to think this will decide 3rd spot and going by the last number of years you couldnt disagree with them. Kk and galway are consistently there but a win here will take alot of pressure off. From what im hearing anyway the mood is good and everyone is mad for work sunday. Dissapointed to see the stand hasnt sold out yet because dublin havent a big hurling fan base.Where are all the supporters? I know its not cheap but i have a gripe with charging u16s €5. For a family it all adds up.
I dont think jippo and dee will be as big of a loss because they havent being there all year. Keith had plenty of time to prepare without them. Some very good points about some players looking tired. Im not going to dwell on the past but theres no doubt some players havent being the same since. Mcguinness done the same in donegal. Its short term success but it seems it has a longer affect. A lad told me before its like having a car chipped up to the last its only a matter of time before the engine goes. Poor liam ryan was a pale shadow of himself last year. The rest will do him no harm. Theres a lot of hurling to play yet.
I think both teams will have this game targeted and i think home advantage will get wexford over the line. Dublin got relegated in the league and at times played some terrible hurling. I think wexford need to lay down a marker and keep the good year going. A win woukd surely kick start things and a leinster final appearance a real possibility. As others said the home crowd in a tight match makes a difference so i would encourage anyone to get out and support the lads if at all possible.

Hoping for a big Wexford crowd to back the lads. We seen the difference our support made against KK last year. I'm convinced this game will define our year"
I'd reckon you're looking at around 8-10,000 … hopefully over the 10k mark

Where do you bring your children for 2 hours and get change out of €5?

Replying To ExiledInWex:  "A fit Liam Ryan is a loss for Wexford, but he has been a shell of the 2019 star since.
I wonder did Davy just push the bodies to the point where they all broke down afterwards. How many survivors from that 2019 Leinster win now?
A slight tangent but why didn't both teams push to have the game on Saturday evening when it not on TV? It might have got the GAA Go at least and gave both an extra days recovery before the game next weekend."
Think this is harsh on Liam Ryan, he's always remained 1 of our core players, if you judging him on the Dublin game last year blame management as he clearly wasn't fit.

It will be interesting to see who gets the number 3 shirt on Sunday. Conor Foley was destroyed against Cork so if he's selected at full back will his confidence be effected resulting from that match.
I believe he played at half back in a challenge against Waterford recently. So it could well be that Rossi is planning someone else to fill that position.
That someone looks likely to be Niall Murphy or OHanlon.

Murphy plays there for Ferns so it wouldn't be alien to him. However the smart money would be for OHanlon to play there. His experience and strength could be a factor in curtailing Hayes.

Just saw an article that a ref got a slap of a sliothar last night pure accident but broke several bones in his face and possibly has a bleed on his brain. I hope he is ok and prayers go out to him and his family

Comes down to match up's too, Cian O'Sullivan will probably be full forward for Dublin so depends who is earmarked for him, could be Donohoe either.

I just bought open side tickets, if its a fine day in Wexford Park it is the place to go.
Would never go to the stand if its warm in the open side.

Tend to always go to the stand myself hard to trust the Irish weather! Overall I always find the atmosphere better in the stand too. I hope we can fill both sides and get a decent crowd in the Clonard end too

I did caveat it with saying that he has been chronically injured and played injured as well. But for me he does a lot of fouling and gives away a lot of frees.
When he is fit there is no doubt he is a giant of a man and huge for Wexford. I see Dublin targeting Ronan Hayes with ball but I also think Reck will sit to help O'Hanlon or Foley out to try snuff out our attack.

Dooley has a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play apparently

I'd say back 3 will likely be Murphy, O Hanlon, Devitt. Halfbacks Patsy/Foley, Damien, Shane. If they are all passed fit. Fingers crossed.

I'd rather Damien Reck at wing-back as I think he's better there than centre-back, the problem then becomes who do we play at centre-back. Can't play MOH there if he's full-back and I think Conor Foley is more suited to being a wing-back rather than a centre back for now. I think Cian Molloy is definitely a centre-back but it'd be a big call to throw him in there given he has never played there at senior inter-county level and he has only started once in the Walsh Cup and twice in the league. Goes to show how big of a loss Paudie Foley is
