Replying To Viking66:  "Silence surely means they are all happy enough with nothing to complain about?"
Silence is the best way. There is no point in Keith giving an interview and saying nothing really.
Managers are clever, they never make pre match predictions to the media. There is nothing more to add to what has already been said. So let the action begin and do the talking after the game.

Replying To Magpie2:  "I see wexford are 1/20 to win and Laois are 9/1.
A draw is given at 20/1. So we are huge favourites.
I'm a little nervy about this game, knowing our past history. We must go into portlaoise totally focused and hopefully lay down a marker early on. If Laois are still in the game with 10 minutes to go anything can happen.
The team selected looks strong on paper but our two big men Jippo and Jacko are major losses.
Surely with front men such as Mac Chin Rory and Cian Byrne we should be well capable of running up a winning score.
I'm confident but not overconfident for tomorrow.
We must be tight at the back and not give away soft goals. Hopefully we have learned from our games against lower ranked teams, Carlow aside.
The required ingredients are, playing with intensity, taking most of the scoring chances that we get and everyone giving it everything for 70 plus minutes.
Verdict--- Wexford to win by 7 points."
Agreed Magpie, get the intensity going from the start and show them who's boss.
I just wonder if we were playing Offaly would we be as bullish ir confident?
It was Laois's awful shooting that cost them, hurling-wise they were as good as Offaly across the pitch.
Put 'em away early lads, we don't want Laois to be still in the game late on with the home support behind them.

Did what we had to do, didn't look rusty at all nor get sucked into a dogfight after Laois' relatively bright start. Their tails would have been up had they stitched that penalty, but all credit to Fanning for the save, and we never looked back after stringing a few points in a row midway through the first half.

Having double-figure scorers hitting 0-32 between them, with a significant amount from play, has us in a good spot for next week. Didn't concede any sucker-punch goals either, which has been our Achilles heel. However, slightly worrying that we didn't score any goals, nor create many chances in that regard either. They were there for the taking. Thought Laois had the edge on puck-outs when the game was close as well.

I think what we are watching with Chin now is what it was like to watch Doran/Rackard back in the day. He has almost transcended the sport. Mogie and Mac were excellent again as well, which goes to show the value of giving lads the bulk of the league campaign off.

On a side note, how often is it emphasised that Player A from Minnow Team 1 is a 'top, top hurler' etc.? (Dempsey is a devil for it). It's ridiculous plamasing that you don't get as much in football. By dint of playing inter-county you are automatically in the top 30-35 players in your county's pool so of course your a good player. It just annoys me for some reason. That said, Rowland deserves the praise he gets, as good a keeper as anyone.

Anyway, we can certainly travel to Thurles with genuine hope next week. Its the most confident I have felt ahead of a QF in years.

Won well in the end but first touch was poor all game and barely got a sniff of goal. Chin walked past us hobbling with his calf strapped up so hopefully that's nothing serious.

The difference Liam Ryan makes to that defence cannot be understated I think we will struggle to contain Clare without him.

What is the story with Jack o connor, will he be back for Clare game?Liam Ryan doesn't look good and D O K mustnt be in his plans for Sat either. On another note hope Chin is OK, had ice on his calf but look ok running off the pitch. Someone needs to ask Rossiter tomorrow night on the sport on SER. As for the match, it was like a training game tbh. Good to win though.

Did what we had to do, didn't shoot the lights out but didn't need to. We.will need everyone for and well for next week. Chin looked to go down for a while but hopefully nothing serious, they'll play jim on 1 leg of they have to. Liam Ryan looked in good spirits before the game so hopefully he has a chance.

Best for me today was McGovern. Got through loads of work. The backs did well enough, Mac sensational at.times up front.

A lot done more to do

Out-scored them 0-23 to 0-07 from open play, it was frees that kept them in it (Although they were never really in it outside of the first 10-15 minutes tbh), has to be a concern right now that we seems to concede more frees than the opposition in most games we play (Although the penalty wouldn't be a penalty in an AIQF in Thurles)

Mac probably the best, Ógie did well enough too, quiter games from ROC and Cian Byrne in attack by their standards, Charlie did a good job at winning possession although he fouled the ball too many times for my liking, the referee pinged us a good bit for fouling the ball

I feel like they got too much joy off their own puck-out in the first half, they were just clearing space in front of their full-forward line and hitting bouncing balls to them off the puck-out, had more success when we sat off them (Although pushing up against Clare should still be the plan)

First 10-15 minutes were shaky, was a solid enough performance between then and the 55-minute mark, we lost our way for about 10 minutes at that point, our use of the ball and the ball into the forwards was not good during that period

Got the job done, going into next week with realistic expectations, I'd have taken a quarter final after the Antrim result.

Is Richie Lawlor injured now too? Ryan, Jacko, Dwyer, Molloy, decent chunk missing from the 26. Hopefully today blows off some cobwebs ahead of next weekend. Critical game for the future of Wexford hurling I think. Much stronger squad than 2 years ago but we have to deliver.

Ah yes, the powers that be, in their rush to play off their biggest cash cows as quickly as possible, moving them from their traditional spot to now clash with global sporting events on telly, literally cannot see the wood for the trees. Any sporting body worth its salt would peruse a calendar before making fixtures.

Talk about promoting the game.

Just home. We did what we had to. Never really got out of 2nd gear. Gave lads their first championship appearances this year or ever, and 1st championship starts this year or ever. Rested a few lads, and Chin, Mogie and Mac went off early. Thought Rory could've been brought off too.
Hopefully good sense will prevail with the QF fixtures next weekend. Id like to see a double header in Croker on Sunday.

Friend of mine works with Liam. Apparently he's 100% and wanted to play today.

Job done. Is Liam Ryan out for the remainder? Hamstring? Also Chin had an ice pack on his hammer when he came off. 1.15 and 3.30 throw ins next Saturday apparently. Joke that.

I'd love a double header in Croker as I'd get there in 20 mins but it'll be in Thurles no matter what day. TBH I'm
Surprised it is even a possibility to change as the last two years there were complaints about the quarter finals being on Saturday but they were left there. Wexford must have been pushing this before the Laois game as a special central council meeting has been called very quickly.

The only thing I took from yesterday was Chin limping around afterwards and I thought Charlie did well.
