Replying To heavyheart19:  "Fogarty?"
I think Fogarty must be injured. He hasn't even got a run the past 2 games, despite being named on the bench. To me, he is the best attacking halfback that I saw in last years championship. The "experts" say that the new rules should suit attacking half backs. My original query was whether we have players who can kick from distance or are they being discouraged from "losing possession".

Injured I believe

Best of luck to the Wicklow footballers tomorrow. At home to Longford, this is a vital game for both counties as defeat will put a serious dent in either counties' promotion plans. I've been largely unimpressed by the footballers in the first two games. A home game against Waterford and an away game against London was a great opportunity to put down a marker for promotion and begin with two victories. Instead the team lost to London after making a good start and scrapped home in their second match against Waterford having led by as much as thirteen points. The signs are ominous and there're not good signs. I'm hoping that the management have been able to resolve the problems from the first two matches and that we can get a victory at home tomorrow.

Just watching Kerry v Dublin. Comerford spends more time out of the goals than in them. He is lucky only one goal has gone in.

Some interesting results in the 1st round of the football league so far this weekend. Big wins for Balto, An Tochar, Rathnew and Eire Og. Balto, Eire Og and Rathnew probably to be expected as all 3 would be almost full strength due to very few if any from each team with the county. But Eire Og must have been missing 8 or 9 with county senior and U20 involvement but still beat the Co. champs by 18 points. If they get control of their player power this year and get things right on the sideline they will take all of the stopping

I'd have to agree with your assessment. And no matter what way it gets dressed up, player power had a detrimental effect on them last year. Like a friend of mine said, they lack leaders on the field when things aren't going to plan. I had thought they might struggle to stay in Div 1 with all the intercity involvement but on the evidence of that score, they should be safe. Rathnew are, as always, Rathnew and will never be too far away from the top. Eire Og are an enigma and Balto are capable of anything. Tinahely will be there at the business end of the season as well

A good win today against Longford. I said it was a MUST win if we want to push for promotion and the team did just that which I'm pleased with. Once again, I thought the team played well in patches but once again they seem to take their foot off the pedal in the second half. This is still a concern for me. I'm trying to decide if it is related to having to make changes or if it is the league and Oisin wants to give his squad game time as he knows come championship and cup, he'll need to twenty plus players. Maybe this is what he is think? If he is then I understand there is a balance. People know who were impressive today - Joe Pendergast, Chris O'Brien and JP Nolan were the stand outs for me. Kevin Quinn is contributing. Again I won't go into the obvious but two goals and two quick two-pointers won the game. Hopefully the team is building momentum and we can keep this push going.

Acid test will be Wexford next weekend. They have built up a head of steam and are motoring well. Limerick made no slip ups against London - in London, unlike us. Carlow will be a tricky one also. This league campaign will have a few twists and turns in it yet. Could be our trip to Tipp for our final ?? game could have a lot riding on it.

Jackson was on the pitch at half time but wasn't named and I noticed he was only kicking with his left. Wonder when he will be back. His frees will be a massive bonus with the 2 points on offer. Thought Fitzgerald did well and was an option in the 12 v 11 but on place kicking alone Jackson has to get the nod.

Incidentally, I would say that the subs at half time put on one of the worst displays of point shooting I have ever seen ;-) They were lucky management were in the dressing room

JP Nolan man of the match. The only worrying aspect of the games so far is our inability to score goals
What has happened to the Auggrim support. I'd safely say there was about 200 people at the Waterford game give or take a few. And yesterday was no different. No atmosphere at all. I know the lack of cash facilities is an issue but yesterday there would be more at club games . There was nearly more at the Shillelagh Coolboy /Carnew game yesterday morning.

Support the past few games has been very poor. Gaa here has never been in a worse place. Nobody to blame but those at the top. No energy, no promotion, no desire to improve. I'm 50 years following Wicklow and past few years my family buy me the season pass for Christmas which is great. Not looking for red carpet when I go to games but the ignorance of some of those who work there is off putting. Shouting and abusing punters at entrance gates doesn't happen anywhere else. Witnessed it myself

Just looking through the NFL predictions for Round 4. Very few giving us a shout, a few giving a draw but most with a Wexford win with anywhere from 1 to 5 pts margin.

I think its fair to have Wexford as favorites. There the home team on a good run and we have had a London incident . But i do think Wicklow are in with a chance, they beat Westmeath and should have beaten Kildare in the championship last year. So fighting chance but could do with the mystery 2 point on our bench, he be useful.

There's never much between us. This year won't be any different.

Difficult as it is for me to admit, you'd have to agree with them. Wexford are top of the table and they are playing at home. If you look at the table, we've played the three teams at the bottom of the table: Waterford, Longford and London. We've lost to London and we struggled in the second half against Waterford. In the next month will really tell us what our true level is. We've to play Wexford (away) followed by the other teams making up the top 5 in the table: Tipperary, Limerick and Carlow. I'm not saying that it is beyond on us but as a supporter I'm unsure what to expect most of the time. We seem to play well for period but then we go out of the game for even longer periods. We've got away with it against Waterford and Longford but playing against better teams we won't get away with it. If the team can play to its capabilities for the full game, I think we can beat anyone in Division 4 but equally if we play well for one half of a game, we an lose to anybody. We are consistent at being inconsistent in games. Which team will show up on Sunday?

Very sad news from Barndarrig on the death of this young man. This type of news puts a game of football and results into perspective. Condolsences to his family and friends. May He Rest In Peace.

Great win again today for Bosco's Bhoys. Let's hope they can keep it up. Tipp found out today that London are no pushover although if you were studying form as in a horse race you would have to say that Wexford and Limerick were favs for promotion - structly on their London results as against ours. Still, there's many a slip tween cup and lip
