I suppose the bookies are rarely wrong, the dominance of Naomh Conall will have to end at some point, and a lot of their players are pushing on another year. Very impressive how they are still going so strong each year but it must end at some point. I think Eunans have a stronger overall panel which might be the reason behind the odds as well.

No Eoghan Ban for Killybegs all the same. McCumhaills have built a good group of players around Farrah with former and current county u20s and plenty more quality, unless the weather plays a blinder I honestly can't see an upset here. I reckon McCumhaills are going to take the scalp of Kilcar or Gaoth Dobhair this year in the knockouts.

I would love to know the turnover of players glenties have had in the last 10 years. It wouldn't be much compared to Eunans/Gweedore?

Naomh conaill have to be admired in the lack of turnover. They also have to be admired in keeping their underage competitive and integrating players in an almost seamless manner. Other clubs don't seem to manage that to the same degree. I don't think st eunans have lost too many players recently who would be a difference maker. Their underage seems to have deteriorated recently and I don't seem them integrating young players. Gweedore had the perfect mix of the old and the new a few years ago. They've obviously lost that now with Cassidy and the McGee's not there. They have lost quite a few on top of that who would be the backbone of the team now so although it was a surprise to lose to four masters probably not as big s surprise when you look at the team sheets. It would seem almost inevitable that four masters will come and come strong. Their overall underage is top class for a number of years now so when this current group mature a little the next group should help them over the line and then they should be thinking bigger picture. Mccumhaills have improved underage though it's a little more fits and starts. They do though have star in oisin Farrah. Glenswilly too and will be interesting to see can they get Murphy a lat hurrah over the best few years though I'm not sure they will. There is nothing between both teams - I'd say we have better quality players in total but they are much better tactically and have a brilliant structure. I don't think it's dominance really. Since glenties/Fintown first arrived on the scene in 2005 to compete properly - they have won 7 championships I think and we have won 6. We have met in 6 county finals and it's 3 each. Most of the county finals from memory were only 1 score in it apart from 2009 and 2021 which we won in very one sided games. Absolute nonsense - none of the glenties/Fintown players are anywhere near over the hill. Quite the opposite in fact - have more faith in your lads who give it everything.
