Replying To meathbasedfan: "i done think Terence Reynolds is with Aughnasheelin. I think that job is vacant at the moment." Terry Reynolds is up in Kinawley this year coaching with Dom Corrigan. Heard that Seamus Ryder from Belleek is gone to Aughavas.

JP McManus gifting each county board 1 million quid.
Be interesting to see what routes various counties go down when spending this money.
Two main areas will be talking points. Should they focus on coaching and development by pouring it extra coaches and Games development officers etc.
Or
With the unification of the Gaa, LGFA and Camoige coming down the line, will counties focus on facilities where there is an upcoming crisis with the need for extra pitches.
Leitrim county board have a difficult decision ahead.
Funding has already been sought to redo Pairc Sean's Pitch but the ground itself also needs alot of work.
Ballinamore is a good second ground, do we use the money there (fencing the far side, car park) or do we look at Cloone developing Cloone?
Personally I'd look at building a Dome at the COE in Annaduff. With our weather and the lack of pitches already we are going to be under serious pressure once the associations amalgamate. This would give us a top class all year round facility which could then be used for coaching days along with the usual matches and tournaments. It would be a game changer for our underage club teams and for schools. In the long term I think it would be a money maker for the County Board if it was used by other counties/clubs and for seminars etc. but would take some serious balls and foresight to go through with.

Someone didn't read the T&C's! Money is to be divided between all the clubs in county, and rightly so. A massive boost to all clubs, fair play to JP

Replying To Leitrim1234: "Any word on club managers?
Mohill, Aughawillan, Ballinamore, Aughnasheelin and Manor are all on the hunt for managers from what I know. That's just at senior level from this year. Many of those clubs will be trying to source a manager from the same merry go round of managers aswell.
Ciaran Kennedy and Danny Beck are taking over Leitrim Gaels which seems like a shrewd appointment.
Between the lack of coaching education and coaches being produced by Leitrim Clubs I think it's going to be extremely hard for clubs to get anyone half decent which will once again effect the overall standard of football in the county along with emigration.
Word is that emigration is again tearing teams apart. Aughnasheelin are going to really struggle. Whilst Drumreilly could be on the brink of folding. County Board are really going to have to stand up over the next few years when amalgamations are happening as they can become a mess if not handled correctly." The lad's must of got some deal from leitrim village to leave a club after 1 year after winning league and championship. Will be hard to ask players in a new club to show commitment after they showed they cant do it themselves

Is there any managers in the country that go to other clubs outside their own parish that are truly committed. Yes they will try their best to train, coach the players and they ofc want to win. But does it really hurt them like it would a club man when their team gets relegated, loses a final etc.
The majority of them will leapfrog on to the next highest bidder given the chance. I think it's disgusting the amount of money spent on managers. It's completely against the values of the GAA and imo you should only be allowed manage your own club/county.
My own club is currently trying to appoint a new manager and there is plenty of decent candidates from the parish and they would be doing it at nearly no cost to the club. But it seems to me that, that is going against them the fact they are actually from the parish. So everyone wants to fork out another €12-14k on an outsider who will probably leave to a better job once he's given the chance. World's gone mad.

I think it's the players that look for the outside manager. It was when I was playing. A lot of pros to getting a good outside manager but there are a lot of bluffers out there. I admire clubs that keep it in house!! Some of the figures managers are getting these days is mind blowing. And majority play the same system!!

This has been going on for decades. An outside manager could be better at picking the team that is going to win things for them rather than accommodating club men or club men's relations but yes, if team is relegated they will simply quit and move on

It's surprising when you rank the teams you realise that so many teams are similar ability from about Number 9-16. I'm sure others will disagree

I seen it mentioned in the paper but not sure was it approved or not. fair enough making senior and inter 8 teams but I would have kept junior A at 8 teams too instead of 10, too many 2nd teams getting hammerings when there are 10 teams but guess there will be less 2nd teams in it now

Good to hear the county seniors are putting in a huge effort once again over the winter.
A few new names included in the panel at the current time (with a few more U20s possibly joining later in the year) Jack Flynn, Cathal McHugh, Arek Oberwan, Jack Casey, Niall Walsh
Jack Gilheaney returning to the panel is the biggest boost we have had. I Personally think it could be a game changer. I feel he'll be the perfect foil for Pearce Dolan at Midfield.
That means we will have Ryan O'Rourke, Donal Casey, Jack Gilheany and Jordan Reynolds who all played very little or no football last year for various reasons.
Paul Keaney is fully committed contary to some rumours.
Paddy Maguire, Jack Heslin are definitely gone from ladt years panel along woth ine or two more.
Keith Beirnes participation is unclear at this time for obvious reasons.
Would have loved to have seen Jack Heslin, Shane Moran, Conor Dolan, Fergal McTague, Dean McGovern and David Bruen be involved but for various reasons theyre not on the panel.
I could be missing one or two but from what I hear the panel will be fairly close to something like this.
Really think a squad with this talent should get promoted even if id be very worried about our Wing/Corner Back positions. I hear weve been experimenting at wing back with forwards again. But they need to find a soloution quickly.
Goalkeeper: Killian Gaffey, Nevin O'Donnell, Darren Maxwell
Defenders: Conor Reynolds, Mark Diffley, Donal Casey, Cillian McGloin, Mark Plunkett, Adam Reynolds, James Rooney, Shane Quinn, Radek Oberwan, Arek Oberwan, Michael McKiernan,
Midfielders: Pearce Dolan, Donal Wrynn, Jack Gilheaney, Jack Flynn
Attackers: Darragh Rooney, Ryan O'Rourke, Jordan Reynolds, Paul Keaney, Evan Sweeney, Aidan Flynn, Barry McNulty, Niall Walsh, Riordan O'Rourke, Cathal McHugh, Jack Casey, Diarmuid Kelleher, Paul Moran, Tom Prior
