Clare, in all your guises on here......this one's for you!

Hard luck on the decent Mayo fans, Mayo gave it everything in that 2nd half.

Hernon and especially Cooke made a massive difference when they came on. O'Conghaile has taken some stick on here but a great score to seal it.

Well done Galway, showed great heart to win that game, thought the ref was brutal in favour of Mayo,
just the type of finish we have come to expect from Mayo over the years.
4 in a row Provincial titles is some achievement. enjoy the celebrations.

Will you ever lighten up and go away and let us enjoy our provincial final win

Out of interest which Galway player made that outstanding block to prevent a point and Mayo to level the game up on 69 minutes. From the turn over Galway made it 1-17 to 1-15 and game over and won.

A good win, and considering all the calls that unbelievably went against us, we did well to hold on. The 1/5 odds were crazy. To do it without Shane or Damien is a really big deal. On a day like today they would have done really well, remember, there are very few games that Shane plays in where is not our top scorer. Hopefully we have emerged injury free though Kelly was limping towards the end. 4 in Row, Well Done all.

As we're plenty of frees given to Mayo in second half.Swings and roundabouts.

Great to dig out that win without the two boys up front. It wasn't looking good with ten mins to go.
Plus Neilan gave Mayo a succession of soft frees .throughout the game.
We need to improve a lot though going forward.
Sean Mulkerrin should be nowhere near the tram going forward - not up to this level.
He's dreadful in possession

The penalty was the correct decision going by the letter of the law. The match was there to be won by Mayo and found a way to lose it, it was similar in the All Ireland Ireland final against Dublin but as years has gone by the narrative is that Dublin was so strong and that was forgotten about.

Well done to Galway on winning 4 in a row a fine achievement in such a competitive performance. You'll finish 1st or 2nd in the group depending how the match against the Ulster runner up goes.

It was Dylan McHugh, a superb block fully laid himself out with the dive to smother it

Comhairgeas to Galway, never panicked. As a Dub delighted with the result. Looking forward to travelling to Galway on Saturda week (hopefully a 7pm throw in) and to enjoy all the hospitality that you have to offer

Anyone who remembers McStay's time in the co commentory box will recall his severe dislike of 'the banana shot' in all instances of shooting at the posts, so more than a tad ironic perhaps that Mayo only managed to engineer 'a banana shot' from Ruane to attempt a game leveller.

Congrats Galway, great to see 4 in a row. Substitutions we're largely effective, and showed good composure down the stretch. Cooke was highly effective for a 10-15 minute contribution. Conroy's kicking skills fairly bailed us out today over 75mins, and not for the first time either.

Dylan McHugh and it was indeed outstanding

Great way to win a game and Connacht title when Mayo heads in attendance had themselves convinced they they would go on to win when level and having the strong wind advantage plus no Maher,Comer and Shane Walsh on the field to bail Galway out.

Dublin coming to Pearse Stadium should make for a great occasion then a trip to a very beatable Derry before finishing out probably in Carrick on Shannon against Armagh or Donegal.

Poor Cora on the Sunday game trying to make out the officials was against Mayo is mildly humorous

Great contest today, came out the right side of it thanks to a bit more composure in the last 10 minutes when it was there to be won. Conroy picked off some beauties, thought McDaid was in with a shout for MOTM too really finding his form when it matters.

Hopefully Mahers injury isn't too serious, would be great to have him back in two weeks time. Did PJ say anything post match regarding the injury status of the others on the panel?

Cora Staunton on the Sunday Game basically saying that the penalty was soft, the point was potentially worth 2 that Gleeson touched. Great analysis. She should have thrown in that if Liam McHale wasn't sent off in 96, Mayo would have won Sam
