You think the penalty was a clear and right decision? She said the missed chances after it cost us the game.

Brilliant day. 4 in a row should be enjoyed. Not that long ago Mayo were doing it in Connacht and Galway were in the wilderness. Cycles of life. gaillimhboy (Galway) - Posts: 364 - 04/05/2025 22:36:45 2606714 Link 0 |
Maher is just a dead leg seemingly so no bother there. Saw Shane on the field after the game but hard to tell how far away he is. Joyce didn't give much away on whether him or Comer would be in for Dublin game

What's incorrect in whst she said? It was clearly a 2 pointer for a start. Congratulations to Galway. It was a 50:50 game. Certainly wasn't the dominating perfornance Galway supporters expected, Mayo could have easily have won the game. It will be interesting to see if Galway can make a dent beyond the group stages. A very chaotic and nervous match for much of the time by both teams, with both sides trowing wild passes close to opposition goal on quite a few occasions but the Galway sideline substitution decisions particularly Hernon and Cooke brought a calmness and a structure that didn't seem there for much of the second half up until their introduction, the team as a whole benefited as a result from a steadiness when in possession that resulted in better decision making and more assured score taking.Well done all a big step up from similar problems over the previous few years. backtooldwall (Galway) - Posts: 141 - 05/05/2025 00:04:08 2606736 Link 1 |
Indeed. About the only thing missing from her 'analysis' was that Neilan didn't give Mayo enough frees.

Thought Mulkerrin actually defended very well. Won some ball and made some interceptions. He's not great on the ball going forward though. Coughed it up twice in a row under pressure and was a bit unlucky in that both ended in Mayo scores. Was taken off fairly quickly after the second one.

RTE need to look at having objective not partisan analysis of games. Lee Keegan was also giving the Mayo perspective on the live Sunday game. Surely RTE can manage to have analysis from pundits not from the counties involved in the match being discussed.

Ha ha ha Clare....that's a great win for a Galway team at 70%

Great to get over the line. Any day you can go to Castlebar and win is a great day, but to do 4 in a row in their own backyard is simply superb. They will be sick for a while after that! ahsure. (Galway) - Posts: 1671 - 05/05/2025 05:35:52 2606758 Link 1 |
Having to listen to Keegan during the game and Staunton afterwards was hard going. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3144 - 05/05/2025 05:38:32 2606759 Link 4 |
It wasn't clearly a 2 pointer. The umpire isn't 9 feet tall. The uprights aren't made of glass so he could see through them if he was 9 feet tall and judge if the ball had passed the crossbar before Gleeson touched it. There's no VAR technology helping him. A call was made based on what officials can see with their own eyes. Our defenders have eyes too. Too often used watching watching Galway players kicking points in the first half, same as the League match. Because sure 'we'll have the wind in the second half we might as well not kill ourself defending now'. Galway, Donegal, Armagh and Kerry won't give up handy scores like that. Winning of the game for Galway: knew when to wmwin ball and knew what to do with it when they had it. Another 'bad luck' story for Mayo. The ref robbed us! We beat ourselves, again.
