Replying To Belclare7:  "One ounce of proof ??? Come on show please"
They are gone to ground ,if we happen to lose which is very possible they'll be back on saying they are right.

Tedious stuff

Replying To Marooned:  "Galway 3-14 Mayo 3-12

Last round of the minor round robin. A dead rubber as both teams meet in the semi-final on the May bank holiday weekend. Worryingly for Galway they had more or less their best team out while Mayo rested most of their first team. And Galway still barely beat them. Doesn't bode well for the semi-final but we'll see I suppose.

Galway storing up big problems at underage for the years ahead. Been a bleak few years at both U17 and U20."
I wouldn't read anything into it. Mayo were entitled to do whatever they want but from a Galway perspective it made no sense to rest players 2 weeks after a game and 2 weeks before a semi final. I can't see how a month off is going to help a 17 year old with form etc but as you say, we'll see.

Replying To galwayford:  "Hoping Galway can beat Rossies on Sunday. But is there an air of over confidence in the camp. P.Joyce needs to get a grip, or Galway will exit the championship."
How would you know whether there is an air of over confidence in the camp or not?
If we lose to Roscommon it will have nothing to do with over confidence.

Agree... that game will bring the lads on a lot last night...
I would say it was Mayo moreso giving the panel a run out rather than resting 16/ 17 year olds..
Makes no difference..

Hard not to read into it. As Marooned said when a full strength team struggles against a 2nd strength team it doesn't bode well for the semi final next week against a full strength Mayo but yeah we'll see.

Connacht final in all but name in Pearse Stadium tomorrow given the way Mayo struggled past a patched up Leitrim team today?

We won't see Walsh for a while, I fear. Will we ever see all our marquee players fully fit at the same time?! It's bizarre. There'd want to be a mass said!!
As for Mayo, they were nowhere near full throttle in the first half today and did enough in the second. There's way more in them.
The Rossies are expecting to ambush us tomorrow. Wait til you see.

If Galway could keep their big players fit they would have an All-Ireland title in the bag already. Unfortunately it seems they can't.

Haha you wish!
Did Galway scraping past Sligo count for anything last year in the overall scheme of things?

Sligo are a better team to be fair having underage and school Connacht titles, They beat Leitrim by 22 points this year also.

Looks like you were right, mulkerrin in for O laoi

Not a huge fan of Mulkerrin as he doesn't offer anything when we are attacking but he did a good job on Enda Smith today

Given the local rivalry, I'd say it will be a close game. As regards "missing the point" it's definitely something of a problem for both counties.. Galway will rue those missed point chances in AI final until the final breath. However, we have a chance to redeem ourselves this year. A lot of people thought Rory McIlroy had missed his chance of winning Augusta and yet he triumphed in the end. So, it's definitely do-able for both counties.

Good win today, moving nicely.

One player who never really gets the plaudits is Liam Silke, thought he was excellent and our most consistent performer.

What happened with midfielders not been able to jump. There must be some box jumping going on the last few weeks

Solid performance today everyone chipped in.

Plenty of 2 pointers even without Walsh and you'd think clowns now would have learned to stop writing off conroy

Really impressed with Thompson. Looks like a lad that has played senior intercounty for years already. Very composed.

Good win for ye today. Well done. Much more comfortable than I expected. Roscommon were very poor and very limited. Ye won pulling up and not really getting near top gear.
