A lot of people are really drinking the Munster championship koolaid and getting brainwashed, while it was an epic, the quality of that game was way down on recent years

First touch was pretty poor, especially from a Limerick point of view. Plenty of misplaced passes and wides too. Excellent entertainment though, very exciting!

God that's a very negative mindset. If Galway play hard, not a certain thing I admit, there's no reason they couldn't beat either of the 2 teams in the Munster Final if they play like they did last night.

We will know where Galway are at after today but Kilkenny would give either of those teams a right rattle.

Are you always this positive about your own county? What did you think of top class hurlers missing a penalty from 20 meters and missing frees from 30 yards and blaming the wind for it?

Dreadful performance. Hurled for maybe 10 mins out of the 70. Wouldn't have beaten Kildare playing like that. Back to the drawing board for next year and get the club championship going. Quarter final or a semi final is a pointless exercise with that setup

Ah a classic Galway v Tipperary Quarter Final in two weeks time!
Disappointed with our performance today made Kilkenny look good!
We will probably beat Tipp and end up in a Semi Final v Cork.

With very little coming through and our best players mostly past their best I worry for the future.

If we don't have the talent it doesn't matter who the manager is. Donoghue has his work cut out. Overall we have hit most of our targets this year (avoid relegation, leinster final) I think most would be happy with that but our lack of fight and our lack of skill and poor performances and hammerings we took is disappointing. I didn't mind losing today if we kept with in 4 or to 5 points and actually played well.

We only made a slight comeback because Kilkenny turned off

Dont think galway ever believed they could beat kilkenny
Should be better against tipp id say local derby.

Extremely poor for the guts of an hour today. The last 10 minutes shouldn't gloss over anything. Yes, they showed some fight towards the end, but the time for that was much earlier.
Being outplayed by better hurlers is one thing, but there's no excuse for being outworked. Particularly against a team which hammered us in the first round and were going for 6 Leinsters in a row.
I also know we don't have the ball winners in so many positions, so again I can accept losing the majority of the 50/50 contests, which we did. But you'd expect us to be ravenous for the breaking ball and pressuring relentlessly. These are things that don't require great talent. So many rucks and loose balls were picked up by Kilkenny and played relatively easily out of any trouble.
I always hear the same stuff after performances like this. It wasn't good enough and we have a chance to put it right against Tipp etc. I'm afraid that doesn't cut it. Today was the time to put it right. They didn't look like a team who were absolutely sick of losing Leinster finals to Kilkenny.
I'm not going to lay into players who put a huge amount of work into it, but they have to question themselves. Did they leave it all out there today? Very few of them can say they did. That's not a dig, it's something I'm sure many of them are thinking and know it better than anyone themselves.

As JC said at the break if you don't win your own puckout in the half forward line you have no platform to win a match. Game over

Agreed. I'm well aware of our shortcomings from a talent point of view at the moment, but there's never an excuse for being outworked as easily as we were today. Particularly as the underdog supposedly with a point to prove. We were insipid for so long in that game. It was like a training session for Kilkenny. They could afford to be very wasteful still be comfortably ahead.

We'd be beaten out the gate by Tipp on today's performance. If the sight of a Tipp jersey on the other side of the field doesn't fire them up then they should vacate the county jersey. I can't see us doing anything the next day. Maybe restore some pride but you couldn't say too many of our lot have the stomach for battle when it gets tough.

The thing is they started off with great intensity. Early on they were fighting for every ball throwing their bodies in there but it just didn't last long.

I also don't think it's all down to lack of fight, intensity and fight is important hut nothing beats skill, and it's not that Kilkenny were great today but right now there's 5 or 6 teams who have better players than we have. It doesn't help our best players aren't that young and very few have put their hands up to show they are going to be the future of Galway hurling

You must spend your life daydreaming. I dont at all think we'll beat Tipp but I'd say we'll put up a performance against them. Better than today anyway.

Coming from a county that wouldn't hurl spuds to ducks, that's priceless.
