It looks like Kildare will be forced to forfeit home advantage as their ground in Newbridge is too small. LeftHalfBack10 (Mayo) - Posts: 30 - 25/06/2018 11:04:05 2114566 Link 0 |

12000 cap of St. Conleths. If this was a super 8 game it would be in Newbridge, can't see why this will change. Plenty of room for ticket holders. Kiwiq (Kildare) - Posts: 38 - 25/06/2018 11:30:28 2114580 Link 1 |

Have to agree dont think it should be changed but then again the Leinster council wouldnt facilitate Wicklow due to the small numbers they could accommodate against the Dubs. Hopefully the Gaa have a bit of cop on and fix game for Newbridge. Counties shouldnt be punished into giving up home advantage just because the oppisition team have a large following.

If it was good enough for Tyrone a couple of years ago for a qualifier I don't see how it's not good enough for Mayo. Disgrace if it's moved but you just know it will be. We should nominate Aughrim as our alternate venue!

In Newbridge you'd give Kildare half a chance but if it's moved then it's Mayo all the way. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13850 - 25/06/2018 13:10:24 2114650 Link 0 |

Double header in Croker with Cavan Tyrone..do Kildare have a choice or are they just told where to play it? tommy132 (Mayo) - Posts: 693 - 25/06/2018 13:43:58 2114665 Link 0 |

Best draw Mayo could of got apart from Leitrim , Mayo have struggled against lesser teams than Kildare but Kildare are so mentally weak you just know they'll bend over to Mayo. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 25/06/2018 13:56:59 2114672 Link 2 |

Wonder will this be moved, dont Mayo have a huge number of season ticket holders. Port Loaise, Tullamore or Croker maybe. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4541 - 25/06/2018 14:11:43 2114680 Link 0 |

I hope the rumours of the Kildare county Board refusing to move are true. Kildare were drawn at home so the game should be in Newbridge. It really is that simple. KildareKelly (Kildare) - Posts: 593 - 25/06/2018 14:19:07 2114688 Link 5 |

The uneven playing field that exists in the GAA and the Senior football championship would make your blood boil. Kiwiq (Kildare) - Posts: 38 - 25/06/2018 14:26:25 2114698 Link 2 |

Proper order, if it comes to refusing to play then so be it. Can't see much of a Kildare crowd going to Croke Park if it does go ahead there. If a county board or the GAA have sold too many season tickets to a group of fans in the knowledge that not every county ground can accommodate them then that's their problem. Home draw, home advantage, entitled to a bigger allocation of tickets. Mayo fans will get to see their team in round 4 and the probably the super 8's so missing one game in Newbridge will hardly kill them. if_in_doubt (Kildare) - Posts: 3696 - 25/06/2018 14:31:02 2114699 Link 3 |

I really hope the Kildare County Board do stick to their guns and refuse to move if that's the rumour. I for one would be fully behind them.

I have no sympathy for kildare mayo and a lot of other counties are in depth getting stands and their grounds up to standard if a county cannot hold a min of 150000 in this day and age then sorry but they can have no complaints kildare have being playing all their championship games in croke park so they no strangers to it so kildare county board get her house in order and get a bigger ground mayo_123 (Mayo) - Posts: 252 - 25/06/2018 14:34:07 2114702 Link 2 |

Kildare should refuse to move. End of story. A home draw is a home daw. jimski (Kildare) - Posts: 381 - 25/06/2018 14:44:13 2114710 Link 4 |

Agree 100% difference with Cavan is they have no home ground at the moment so Croke Park suits . Hopefully Kildare will stand their ground. But I'm afraid the old "Johnny Cash"!will win in the end.
