Meath Under 20'S 2023

Complete silence on this game everywhere. A match report wouldn't go a miss as many people couldn't go to the game due to club games being on or travelling for the senior game. Hopefully there is one in the chronicle. All I seen was a tweet that the Bowden's combined to score 2-5 and I heard Ruairi Kinsealla got sent off.

That's serious result given all the quality that wasn't playing. It's hard not to get excited. I hope we can deliver with the expectation

Yeah Ruairi Kinsella was sent off late in 1st half so they played entire 2nd half with 14 men, they were also 5 points down early in 2nd half but came back to win it, so very positive result especially with Conor Gray and Eoghan Frayne on d bench aswell.

Thanks I got to take a look at it. John McDonagh with 0-4 points from wing forward is very encouraging

Huge congratulations to Nobber in getting to the all Ireland C schools final hammering all around them. Few Meath 20's players in Sean O'Hare, Killian Smyth, Rian McConnell along with last years minor Rian Stafford. Great to see any Meath representatives going well in any provincial/all Ireland competitions. Been too few and far between lately in men's football. Hopefully a sign of things to come

What's next after this? Is it straight to Championship or is there a league?

Straight to championship. Starts on the 21st March. There is a league final but Tyrone have I think 8 points better than us on points difference so unless they slip up a final is probably unlikely

Hahaha, taking the club vs county debate literally. I off course meant against Antrim in Skryne. Looking forward to it.

Thanks , would Tyrone be the favorites for the all-ireland with Canavan etc?

Group stages. We play Longford away, Carlow at home and Laois away. Top of the group into a semi final. 2nd place into a quarter final. I think every game is midweek unfortunately

Probably. Although when we played them they were missing some players as the Ulster schools final between two Tyrone schools was that day. Derry would also be strong, won the minor at this age. Impossible to know with 20's though. Nobody would have seen Offaly coming a few years ago

Was at Meath Antrim in Skryne, hard to pick flaws in that performance. The first half especially was pure football, 100% intensity and very few mistakes. Eoghan Frayne is just different class and could play championship for the meath seniors this summer, he's that good. Alan bowden also very impressive with 7 points. Killian Smyth at wing back stood out for me but i could name about a dozen other players who also played well.
