It is no wonder why so many Dubs living in Meath dont take up the game or cease to continue to play it when they move to Meath.

I visited a friend of mine during the Summer and actually overheard an underage coach comment on it first hand.

So stop burying your hand in the sand.

It is not a massive issue but DEFINITELY it has put kids off in the past....

I recall a Meath poster commenting on something similar over a year ago.
And the phase a generation of kids was used then also....

Even saying it has improved massively is insulting as it implys that us meath folk were not very welcoming to people moving down from Dublin until very recently . That is simply not true . Up and down the county for years now the majority of people moving into our towns and villages and GAA clubs are accepted and made to feel part of it straight away regardless of where they are from.

You will always have the 1 or 2 idiots who are the exception to the rule but for the most part all comers are welcomed in . There will of course be some friendly rivalry slagging and craic like your example of joking they will put him in goal for shooting practice between people from different counties and particularly Dublin folk because of the rivalry but I have rarely heard of an example where it went too far.

We can leave it here if you like but there was no way I was gonna standby and let you imply that meath GAA people in the clubs up and down the county have anything at all to do with dublin kids not getting involved with their local clubs when barring 1 or 2 isolated examples you have there is zero evidence that this is true.
