Replying To summerhillof69:  "I think they have this System in Kilkenny Hurling Championship
So all teams are in either fighting relegation or into knock out stages - No in between

Its so that theres no Dead rubber games and every game means something
I would prefer this system so theres a championship feel to all games"
Kilkenny system is different as the league counts toward championship.

There was dead rubber games for the teams bottom of the groups in the last round so this makes no sense either?

There were dead rubber games, with this system you have meaningless round 3 games, a team with 3 losses like Simonstown play a team that lost one game?? Should be reward for coming third, ie no relegation

The third place team are rewarded, they play a team that finished fourth. I think it a good idea as gives every team four guaranteed championship games and whoever does go down deserves to go down by losing 3 knockout games in a row.

They only finished third because they got a lucky draw and the worst team in the SFC was in their group.
I don't think playing Simonstown is an easy draw.

Maestro - A luck draw. What is a lucky draw? Both teams scored the same so how is that lucky?

The new format has made no difference to the championship. Once again we had games in the last round with teams holding back their best players as they were already in relegation or qualified.

We have a team who lost 2 and won one in the quarter final.

A team who lost one, drew one and won one in relegation.

Still no planner either when semis and finals will be on in the relegation.

Heading into the rain, wind and muck time of the year, championships should be over the first or second week in October.

I fully agree, you finish 3rd in a group and in relegation, why don't they just have relegation for last place. The fixtures are a shambles. To see an outside referee doing a quarter final is a thundering disgrace. The CCC should be ashamed of themselves.

Would you not assume the relegation games will be on the same time as the knockout semi finals/final. 2 weeks between each round?

On another note why was NOM Moynalvey relegation game played earlier?

I dont think you would be complaining of it was the Bracks in the quarter finals if they only won one game

unfortunately that is the luck of the draw , I for one wouldnt like to see the Bracks go down though , do you think Simonstown would like to be in the relegation quarter finals?? No

This year was always about survival Summerhillof69 for the Bracks.

The Bracks are not ready for the business end of the championship yet but definitely have the talent to compete in the next couple of years if this group of young players can stick together.

We were in a very good position against the cilles until a terrible mistake by the referee.

We not ready to compete against Dunboyne/Kells/Ratoth/Summerhill yet.

Winners will come from that 4, rest only making up the numbers.

Paddy Power has the odds for outright win

Ratoath 7/4
Dunboyne 5/2
Kells 5/1
Na Fianna 15/2
Summerhill 8/1
Tones 9/1

To me Kells is a great bet at 5/1

I think they are going to have a very tough game against Don/Ash - interesting there are no odds for Don/Ash in that post!

I say it is based on the fact they had it won last year until the last second.

Don/Ash will beat Kells and are a dark horse to win the championship.

I think if Don/Ash had a forward near the calibre of Beano I would give them a chance but can't see anything only a Kells victory.

Don't you have to be winning at the final whistle?

It's going to be a very good weekend of football, pity there's no weekend pass.

Trying to decide whether Kells vs Ash or Na Fianna vs Tones will be the better pick on Saturday.

On the championship itself, Ratoath and Dunboyne probably have the best squad on paper but Kells starting 15 will cause anyone problems, I just don't think they have the bench to make an impact.

Summerhill are also very well balanced but it's the impact off the bench, a questionable midfield and no Barry Dardis so far which would worry me. Ratoath's fullback line should be able to the Frayne brothers but if Dardis plays then that should take pressure off them.

Each of the other teams have a couple of county men but can leak goals with Wolfe Tones a prime example in the two Feis cup finals this year. I expect them to bounce back just like they did against Kells in championship and shore up their defence.
Looking forward to seeing St. Colmcilles playing really dangerous forwards in Reilly, Conlon and Brennan plus some of the up and coming minors.

Dunboyne by 6
Kells vs Ash draw with Kells after ET
Tones by 3
Ratoath by 1

No you win it in the 60!! . Your missing my point, you seem to mock a selection when they were seconds away from winning it(and out performing the current favs).
