The group stages of the Meath football championship came to a conclusion yesterday. After three rounds we now know the line up for the quarter finals and the relegation quarter finals.

The group stages of the Meath football championship concluded this evening. Ratoath run riot, Wolfe Tones bounce back, Dunboyne and Skryne are through, O’Mahonys make the last eight, first win for St. Michaels, big win for Clann na nGael

Dunshaughlin finish top of Group A in the Senior Football Championship. Holders Summerhill were made to fight all the way by Donaghmore Ashbourne. Oldcastle too strong in the top of the table clash in the IFC Group C. Ballinlough, on score difference, and unbeaten St. Vincents make their way to the JFC knockouts.

Friday 6th September

Beaten finalists for the past two years Duleek Bellewstown are out of the race for the Mattie McDonnell Cup. Despite their defeat Ballivor top the group with Castletown joining them in the quarter finals. Last years Junior B championship winners Slane are through to the knockout stages of the Junior A. They are joined by St. Ultans. A point in the dying seconds from Shane Gibney earned Moylagh a share of the spoils and ended Syddan’s hope at Ballinlough.

The race for the knockout stages and the dreaded relegations battles began tonight. Simonstown top Group C of the senior football championship Na Fianna finish third. Meath Hill’s unbeaten run continues while a draw in Ballinlough earned Bective a place in the last eight.
