The semi-finals pairings in the Dr Harty Cup are known after yesterday’s quarter-final action.
Thurles CBS will face De La Salle, Waterford with Gaelcholáiste Mhuire of Cork taking on St Flannan’s, Ennis in the other last-four tie. Boosted by goals from Jack Hayes and Cormac Fitzpatrick, Thurles CBS hit an unanswered 2-10 before half-time as they eased to a 2-25 to 0-23 victory over Ardscoil Rís of Limerick.
Gaelcholáiste Mhuire accounted for Cashel CS by 0-18 to 0-10 to reach their first semi-final in 29 years, while Conor Power and Adam Regan raised green flags in De La Salle’s 2-24 to 2-15 victory over CBC Cork.
Meanwhile, traditional giants St Flannan’s have reached the penultimate stage for the first time since 2000 after coming from behind to edge out Midleton CBS by 2-16 to 1-18. Harry Doherty struck 1-12 for the side managed by Clare All-Ireland winners Tony Kelly, Jamesie O’Connor and Brendan Bugler.
