David Clifford’s red-hot form was on display again yesterday evening when he returned to club duty with Fossa in the Kerry intermediate football championship.
A shoo-in for ‘Footballer of the Year’ after his performances for the Kingdom in 2025, the 26-year-old struck for 1-8 in Fossa’s 2-19 to 1-11 opening round victory over John Mitchels at Austin Stack Park.
The two-time All-Ireland winner was in sizzling form in the first-half, racking up 1-5 in the opening 18 minutes at the Tralee ground, including a coolly taken goal (watch it below).
Fossa, who were without the services of Paudie Clifford yesterday, will be looking to go one better in this year’s championship after having lost out to Laune Rangers in the semi-finals of last year’s competition.
