Oulart-The Ballagh have opted against appealing the result of their controversial Wexford SHC preliminary quarter-final defeat to Rapparees.

Rapparees player Floyd Murphy stayed on the pitch after receiving a second yellow card in the 51st minute as they went on to win by 4-15 to 2-13 thanks to late goals from county player Kevin Foley and Darragh Pepper. An Oulart appeal had the potential to delay the championship, but they have decided not to object and now face a SHC relegation final against Cloughbawn instead.

"As a club we chose not to appeal the incident," they said in a statement.

"However, we feel that for the integrity of this competition and all future Wexford GAA competitions when errors occur and there is evidence to confirm the error, the CCC should initiate an investigation."
