To be perfectly honest I walked the pitch and looking from the stand it looks in great mick, however when you walk on the field you will notice that its still not fully grown as there is lots of sand and clay still visible... Hard to know what will happen. Is it a good idea to go ahead and play on it? Time will tell Cuchullains and Crosserlough for glory this year YOUWONTCODME (Cavan) - Posts: 125 - 03/10/2018 12:49:25 2144945 Link 0 |

I don't believe you walked the pitch YOUWONTCODME Joe ?? The pitch will stand up to the intermediate and senior final provided they close it directly and not open the door to silly games after. If they are wise they will keep it closed until the start of the national football league and only play the three home games on it. The pitch will be fine the bounce might be strange but it's the same for all four teams. The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4601 - 04/10/2018 00:32:30 2145043 Link 0 |

Have you walked the pitch in the last few days yourself ? the pitch should be given all the time it needs to grow and make for a great playing surface. Totally agree it should be limited to a small number of games per year. Do you care to tell us all what your hatred is of town teams especially the gaels is over the last number of years? daddyknowsbest (Cavan) - Posts: 85 - 04/10/2018 12:20:27 2145101 Link 0 |
Yes I walked the pitch yesterday it's doing well and I hope the County board stick to the two matches but I fear once the pitch is opened that it will be free for all I hope I am proved wrong off course.

Not great fare over weekend. Only one winner, the county board. McVreety junior was good as was Dara. Shane Tierney is talened but Ronan Flanagan done well and kept him quiet in 2nd half. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 07/10/2018 20:13:55 2145461 Link 0 |

Having been to the two senior semis, I couldn't help but appreciate the atmosphere at both games. Kingscourt have a fine facility and should be used more frequently. But when it gets to this time of year, it's nice to be back in Breffni for the big games. I believe the greed of the county board is getting the better of them with the scheduling of this weekends fixtures. If Breffni is not deemed appropriate to host a senior semi final double header on Saturday, how can is host the intermediate final on Sunday? I believe that moving the games out of Breffni has been a tremendous success but cant see it continuing in future years. Also, a friend said that they were at the junior final and their 14 year old son had to pay €13 into the game. Shame. In a time when underage numbers are tumbling around the county, free in is the least they could do. It will be interesting to see if admission will be reduced this weekend. waynerooney11 (Cavan) - Posts: 142 - 08/10/2018 11:54:38 2145546 Link 0 |
Bigger crowd for Saturday's game than Sunday's but both well attended, not sure what the actual figures were. Crosserlough left it behind them I thought, should have been well out of sight but for some poor finishing and decision making. Castlerahan and Lavey probably the right result and the much better game in my opinion. Anchorman_6 (Cavan) - Posts: 35 - 08/10/2018 12:18:07 2145554 Link 0 |
The Monaghan Co Final could be played yesterday even though Monaghan Seniors were in the latter stages of the Championship in August. Inaroundehouse (Cavan) - Posts: 975 - 08/10/2018 12:30:12 2145558 Link 1 |

I wouldn't be getting too excited about the area of Drumlane, yes one of the biggest but over half of it is under water.... link Dustin (Cavan) - Posts: 26 - 08/10/2018 16:58:35 2145625 Link 0 |
So the county bored are having weekend passes for this weekend. Its two months too late this should of been done at the start of the championship when there were a host of games on and not now at the end. Too little too late daddyknowsbest (Cavan) - Posts: 85 - 09/10/2018 09:19:37 2145722 Link 0 |
