Reports
Senior Football
The Senior footballers lost in Burren on Friday, 3-7 to 0-7. Burren took their chances in front of the nets while An Riocht didn't. Playing against a strong wind An Riocht battled well and had held the home side to 1-4 to 0-2 when they conceded an injury time goal to leave an uphill challenge for the second half. That hill became a mountain when a third Burren goal went in from the restart. An Riocht lacked that killer instinct when their chances arose and never looked like closing the nine point gap. Team: B McVeigh; M Trainor, C Doyle, C McVeigh; S Clarke, D O'Reilly, P Sherry; P Murney, J Cunningham 0-3; P Gartland, Declan Doyle, Darren Doyle; R White, C Killen 0-4, D white. Subs P Cole, C Cole, R Cunningham, M Clarke.
U18 Football
The U18 footballers had a good win over Liatroim at Dunavil on Tuesday.
U16 Football
The U16 footballers beat Castlewellan on Thursday. Playing some good football, long passing and high catching, An Riocht led five nil (Conor Clarke converted a fifty and Jack Rafferty goaled) when the visitors struck their first score, a goal in the fifteenth minute. An Riocht continued to use the ball intelligently and built up a good lead (Darragh Campbell netted a second goal) only to concede two goals at the end of the half and Thomas Sloan tipped over a likely third as An Riocht went in narrowly ahead 2-7 to 3-1. A goal on the restart from Darragh Campbell doubled that advantage and An Riocht went on to win comfortably. Team: T Sloan; D Hardy, C Clarke, A Harper; M Harper, R White, S Cunningham; L Rodgers, A Sloan; SC Small, D Morgan, S Flood; A Eastwood, J Rafferty, D Campbell. Subs C Morgan, D Matthews, R Campbell.

Kingdom Youth Club is among the latest groups from Northern Ireland to achieve the Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard, recognising the excellent work done with volunteers. That makes a total of 63 in NI to achieve the Award (this includes 6 groups who have renewed their award).
Investing in Volunteers is the UK quality standard for all organisations involving volunteers. Investing in Volunteers aims to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for all volunteers and demonstrates that organisations value the enormous contribution made by their volunteers. Investing in Volunteers is delivered by the four national volunteering infrastructure bodies, Volunteering England, Volunteer Development Scotland, Volunteer Now in Northern Ireland and Wales Council for Voluntary Action.
Kingdom Youth Club was assessed against a range of best practice standards and proved to excel in all aspects of working with its volunteers. Sandra Adair, Director Policy and Capacity Building, said "Volunteer Now is delighted to announce Kingdom Youth Club's successful achievement of this Award, they have demonstrated a real commitment to volunteering, proven that their volunteer management policies and procedures meet nationally recognised standards."
Investing in Volunteers is unique in that it is the only standard that focuses on volunteers. It is based on four areas of volunteer management; planning for volunteer involvement, recruiting volunteers, selecting and matching volunteers and supporting and retaining volunteers.
Further information about the Standard can be found on www.investinginvolunteers.org.uk. The Standard will enhance volunteer management and is rigorous but is designed to be simple to implement and not to generate large amounts of paperwork. It is the only quality standard that has independent external validation with a UK Quality Assurance Panel that makes recommendations to the UK Volunteering Forum, the awarding body.
