Stephen McDonagh
Former Limerick hurler Stephen McDonagh made have won his first SHC this year, but that has not dampened his appetite for the game as Bruree prepare for the Munster club hurling championship clash with Clare king pins Wolfe Tones on Sunday, November 5th. McDonagh is captain of the Bruree side winning his first county title at 37 years of age and he could be forgiven for deciding to call it a day, but he is determined to do well in Munster, despite the strength of the opposition. "There's a responsibility on us now to represent our county, and we're going to do that to the best of our ability. We're not under any illusions about the size of the task facing us, it's a big, big task," said McDonagh. "The biggest help to us this year was the fact that we had no-one involved with Limerick, which meant we had around 30 players at training every night. That was a massive help and one of the main reasons we won the county final."
