Lawlor to return to Limerick fold?

Peter Lawlor
Limerick hurling manager Joe McKenna is keeping his fingers crossed in the hope that talented defender Peter Lawlor returns to the squad, even though the player recently revealed he was taking a year out. McKenna has saw his Limerick squad get off to a good start in this year's campaign and the county picked up their first piece of silverware in nine years, when they won the inaugural Waterford Crystal Cup. However, their preparations for the league and championship were dealt a blow when Lawlor withdrew from the squad, citing that he had lost his appetite for the game as the reason for his absence. McKenna is hopeful that a few months away from the game will see Lawlor keen to come back into the squad, although the Limerick manager stressed he will pressurise the Croom clubman into returning. "It is very simple with Peter. He has been playing the last five or six years. Peter has lost his appetite. I had a good chat with him and advised him to take some time out," said McKenna. "Maybe in a month or two's time when the sun is out on his back. Peter might think a bit differently. He is a very, very good player and we need all our good players. We have to wait until Peter gets the appetite back and we will see then."
