Mick O'Dwyer's bid for football honours this year with Laois has received a boost with the return of county star Colm Parkinson following a sabbatical taken by the player last year. Parkinson spent some time last year travelling around the world but last weekend he cemented his return to the Laois fold by lining out in a challenge game against UCD in Portarlington. "Colm started against UCD on Saturday and he played very well," explained Laois selector Declan O'Loughlin. "He certainly didn't show any ill-effects from his travels. "We were very happy with his contribution and he set up quite a lot of scores. "He didn't play the whole game as Micko wanted to give all the fellas a run but certainly Colm showed that he has lost none of his talent so we are delighted to have him back." Tweet
