Former football stars Marc Ó Sé and Eamon McGee and Donegal icon Brian McEniff are set to be among the guest for tonight’s edition of ‘Up for the Match’ on RTE One.
Tomorrow sees Donegal and Kerry squaring off in the All-Ireland senior football championship final at Croke Park (3.30pm) and excitement has been building nicely as fans wait to see whether the Sam Maguire Cup is heading for the Hills for a third time or the Kingdom for a 39th.
On the eve of the big game, RTE will broadcast ‘Up for the Match’ live from 9.35pm and the show will be presented by Jacqui Hurley and Des Cahill who will be joined by the aforementioned trio in studio.
The national broadcaster’s Gaelic games correspondent Marty Morrissey is set check in live from Kilcar, which is the home club of Donegal captain Patrick McBrearty and cousins Ryan and Eoin McHugh, while Anna Geary will be at Kerry’s Rathmore GAA club where the locals will be supporting Kingdom stars Paul Murphy and Shane Ryan.
Viewers of tonight’s show can anticipate loads of lively chats, green and gold colour and musical moments, including a return of the fan favourite ‘Jimmy's Winning Matches’ by Rory & The Island, with a twist in store.
