The referees for the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championship finals

The LGFA has announced the referees for the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championship Finals, to be played at Croke Park on Sunday, August 3.

Sligo’s Gus Chapman will take charge of the all-Leinster clash between Dublin and Meath in the Senior decider at 4.15pm, while the Intermediate Final between Laois and Tyrone at 1.45pm will be overseen by Galway’s Shane Curley.

The Junior decider between Antrim and Louth, which will get proceedings underway at 11.45am, will be refereed by Mayo’s Kevin Corcoran.

Representing the Shamrock Gaels club in Sligo, Gus Chapman is preparing to take charge of his first TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship Final.

Chapman refereed TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Finals in 2013 and 2023 and he’s had some notable outings already in 2025, including the Tyrone-Westmeath Intermediate semi-final, along with Mayo v Cork, Mayo v Leitrim and Galway v Tipperary in the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship.

Commenting on the news of his appointment, Chapman said: “I didn’t know whether to cry or scream when I received the call. I was at Cúl Camps at the time so I could do neither! I’m absolutely overwhelmed and after such a long time, I just can’t believe it.”

Intermediate Final referee Shane Curley is looking forward to his third experience of the big day with the whistle.

From the Glinsk club in Galway, Curley was referee for the 2021 TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Final between Westmeath and Wexford, and he took charge of the Senior decider involving Dublin and Kerry in 2023.

Already this year, Curley was referee for the Lidl National League Division 1 Final between Armagh and Kerry, before overseeing Cork v Kerry and Meath v Tipperary in the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship.

Curley reflected: “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to represent my club and county again at Croke Park. It’s a great honour for me and it’ll be a proud day for my umpires as well, who have been around the country with me for the last number of years.”

Kevin Corcoran is looking forward to a third TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship Final as match referee.

Representing the Kilmeena club in Mayo, Corcoran was the man in the middle for the 2017 Junior Final replay between Derry and Fermanagh, which was played in Clones, and the 2022 decider at Croke Park, which featured Antrim and Fermanagh.

Corcoran’s most recent TG4 All-Ireland Championship experience was the Intermediate quarter-final between Clare and Monaghan – and he’ll now make it a hat-trick of Junior Finals.

Corcoran said: “It means the world and it’s great to be recognised for the effort that you put in. It means a great deal to be acknowledged when you’re doing a good job.”
