Eleven-in-a-row chasing Ballygunner have been drawn against Passage in the Waterford SHC semi-finals.

The local derby will be played as part of a double-header with the other last-four tie between Abbeyside and Mount Sion at Walsh Park next Sunday. Despite losing Shane O’Sullivan to a red card in the second half, Ballygunner overcame De La Salle by 2-21 to 0-21 in last Sunday’s quarter-final to extend their remarkable unbeaten championship run in Waterford to 56 games.

Goals from Kevin and Pauric Mahony were crucial to the outcome, while Dessie Hutchinson also shot six points from play for the 2022 All-Ireland club champions. In Sunday’s other semi-final, Passage made light of Kevin Cullinane’s early dismissal and a seven-point deficit to edge out Roanmore by 1-18 to 0-20.
