Former Roscommon sharpshooter Frankie Dolan is the new Abbeylara senior football manager.

Dolan famously starred for Ballymahon in their historic 2002 Connolly Cup success before transferring back to his native St Brigid’s and kicking the winning point in their 2013 All-Ireland Club SFC final victory over Ballymun Kickhams. Since hanging up his boots, he has coached a number of clubs, including St Brigid’s and Roscommon Gaels, and Rosemount in Westmeath.

Dolan will be hoping to revive Abbeylara’s fortunes after they failed to reach the knockout stages of the Longford SFC last year for the first time since 2005.
