'Banty' wins €1,000 in local rivals' lotto

Eyebrows were raised this week when Seamus ‘Banty’ McEnaney won €1,000 in the Magheracloone Mitchells ticket pick.
The irony of the former Monaghan and Meath manager winning the tidy sum wasn’t lost on anyone after his Corduff side had beaten their neighbours and keen rivals by 2-8 to 1-8 in the Monaghan SFL last Friday. ‘Banty’ also guided Corduff to wins over Magheracloone in last year’s IFC and IFL finals.
The lucky ticket was pulled live on Facebook by Magheracloone LGFA chairperson Lindsey Mullen who jokingly remarked: ''That won't be a popular one tonight but how and ever!''
