The Keady name was associated with another Galway success last night after Anthony Keady featured in the Tribesmen’s All-Ireland minor hurling championship semi-final final victory over Kilkenny.
Son of two-time All-Ireland winner and 1988 Hurler of the Year, Tony Keady, Anthony came on as an early second-half substitute at centre-field as Galway saw off the Cats by 0-23 to 1-12 at Semple Stadium.
One of Galway's hurling greats, Tony Keady passed away four years ago this month at 53 years of age.
With his late father having won senior and U21 All-Ireland titles during his career, Anthony's debut yesterday means a minor Celtic Cross medal would be added to the Keady household’s collection should Galway defeat Cork next Saturday.
TweetPoignant moment in Thurles as the late Tony Keady's son Anthony came on to make his Galway minor debut.
