Galway are one step away from a record fifth consecutive All-Ireland minor hurling championship title after seeing off Kilkenny 0-23 to 1-12 at Semple Stadium this evening.

The holders emerged victorious by three points when the two counties met in the rescheduled 2020 All-Ireland decider last month and they repeated the trick in this semi-final.

Wing-forward Rory Burke took the scoring plaudits for the Tribesmen with 0-10 as they set-up a showdown against Munster champions Cork on August 21.

Three unanswered points in injury-time left Kilkenny trailing by 0-12 to 0-6 at the break, but Danny Glennon's goal right on the resumption, allied to frees from Harry Shine got them back into the game.

Galway settled again and Michael Power (2), Darren Shaughnessy and Darragh Neary split the posts to regain their six-point lead approaching the second water-break.

They never looked back with Oisin Lohan and man-of-the-match Tiernan Leen adding further green flags before Burke rounded off the scoring as the Cats could only manage one point in the final quarter.
