Former Ballyboden St Enda's and Dublin hurling goalkeeper Conor Dooley is enjoying his new role in attack.
Speaking to the Irish Sun ahead of 'Boden's Leinster club SHC final against Ballyhale Shamrocks in Carlow on Sunday week, the goalkeeper-turned-poacher explained how he hasn't looked back since Ballyboden manager Joe Fortune moved him outfield.
"Mayhe he thought I had more to offer outfield," Dooley said.
"But it just showed the depth and strength in the squad. We had Conor O'Donoghue - 19 years of age - who stepped up and performed well (in goal). Outfield, a lot of it is based on fitness. I'm not saying you can be unfit playing in goals.
"But if you're looking to play 60, 70, 80 minutes, you have to make sure you have a good base in you. It's a lot more gameplan-based outfield I feel. You have to make runs where you might not get the ball, but it's all fro the team.
"When you're in goal, you're just concentrating on yourself, your puckouts, dealing with the ball that comes into you."
