Stephen Sherlock was in good scoring form as St Finbarr’s captured their first Cork SFC title in 33 years against Duhallow at Pairc Ui Chaoimh today.

The left corner-forward found the target with 1-8 as the ‘Barr’s ran out 3-14 to 2-14 winners.

Right half-back Colin Lyons and substitute Eoghan Finn found the back of the Duhallow net in the second-half as the city side fought back from a three-point (2-7 to 1-7) half-time deficit.

Seamus Hickey and Donncha O’Connor (penalty) netted goals for the divisional side in the opening 30 minutes but Lyons’ goal had his team back on level terms inside two minutes of the restart.

Finn’s three pointer arrived in the 51st minute and the Ian Maguire captained St Finbarr’s went on to capture their long-awaited ninth county title.
