A strong second-half showing propelled The Nire to an eight Waterford SFC success at Fraher Field today.

The 2014 champions pulled away from final opponents Ballinacourty after the resumption to record a runaway 1-17 to 0-8 win.

Despite playing against the breeze in the first-half, the winners held a 0-6 to 0-5 advantage at the halfway point.

With Liam Lawlor playing a prominent role, they pressed home their advantage in the second-half and Darren Guiry's injury-time goal was the icing on the cake.
