
Galway manager Micheál Donoghue has been dealt a blow with the news that centre-back Greg Lally will miss the rest of the season through injury.
The Irish Daily Star reports that the Gort man suffered cruciate knee ligament damage in the Tribesmen's defeat to Dublin last month, effectively ending his involvement for this season.
Fellow defender Fergal Moore also limped off against the Dubs and is a doubt for Sunday's crunch clash with Killkenny, while Daithi Burke's fitness is also in question as the Turloughmore man recovers from a wrist injury.
There was also bad news for the county's footballers recently, after it was revealed that new goalkeeper Thomas Dolan has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.
Throw in for Sunday's game at Nowlan Park is at 2pm.
