Former Kildare manager Jason Ryan has taken up a coaching role with his native De La Salle in Waterford.

The dual club have not won a Waterford SHC title since 2012, having earned Munster success twice previously in 2010 and 2008, and will be out to dethrone three-in-a-row chasing champions Ballygunner. 

Ryan, who stood down from his post with the Lilywhites last August after two seasons in charge, was recently appointed strength and conditioning coach for Airtricity League Premier Division side Wexford Youths for the club's pre-season training.
