DIT recorded an impressive 4-14 to 0-16 victory over Kilkenny in Dunmore tonight, while Galway overcame NUIG in Ballinasloe.

The Noresiders fielded their U21 side, managed by Eddie Brennan, but this is still a nice scalp for the students, who had goals from Wexford duo Conor McDonald and Jack Guiney to take a 2-5 to 0-9 interval lead.

The hosts had led by 0-9 to 0-3 after 28 minutes but the match was turned on its head before the break and the students added further majors from McDonald and Cian O'Donoghue after the restart.

Menwhile, at Ballinasloe, Joe Canning fired over nine points and Brian Molloy bagged 1-2 as Micheal Donoghue's Galway defeated NUIG on a scoreline of 1-21 to 1-12, with Clare's Bobby Duggan (1-9) proving to be a real nuisance for the students.
