Aidan Lennon will manage the Westmeath minor footballers in 2015 - 20 years after he was the county's All-Ireland minor winning goalkeeper.
The St. Joseph's clubman served as a selector under Tommy Carr, who has stepped down after three years as manager. Lennon was Westmeath's first-choice senior goalkeeper for a number of years before being succeeded by Gary Connaughton in the Lake County's Leinster SFC winning year of 2004.
However, Lennon was a panelist that year.
With Tommy Cribbin taking charge of the senior and U21 teams next year, it means that former minor, U21 and senior manager Luke Dempsey won't have any involvement with Westmeath next year, despite having expressing an interest in the U21 post.
