Minor star Burns gets Louth senior call-up

Louth's Ryan Burns
Minor sensation Ryan Burns has been called into the Louth senior football squad.
The Hunterstown Rovers clubman starred for the Wee County U21s in both their outings against Meath this year and was also the main attacking threat for the Louth minors in their championship defeats to Wexford and Longford.
Top scorer for Hunterstown last year as they won the Louth JFC and qualified for the Leinster junior club final, Burns also featured on the Ardee Community School team that contested the All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior 'C' football final last month.
With Louth due to open their Leinster SFC campaign against Westmeath in Mullingar on Saturday week, Burns has been added to the 30-man squad alongside Eoghan Lafferty and Conor Grimes.
"There is no such thing as too young unless they are lacking physically," manager Aidan O'Rourke states in The Argus. "But that's clearly not a problem for Ryan or Eoghan.
"The main problem is the Leaving Cert but we approached Ryan's family and they agreed that it will be okay.
"Ryan himself is mad keen and it's good for the squad to have guys like Conor, Eoghan and Ryan coming in to fresh things up and pushing lads out of their comfort zone."
