Wicklow 1-9
IT Carlow 0-11

Dean Odlum's 33rd minute goal set Wicklow up for a slender victory over IT Carlow in difficult conditions at Ashford.

The goal was made by corner back Ciaran Hyland whose initial shot was parried by the Carlow 'keeper before Odlum volleyed in to give the hosts a 1-6 to 0-6 half-time lead.

With Liam Boland to the fore, the students rallied in the second half to draw level the scoring at 0-10 to 1-7. But after Adam Merriman put the Garden County back in front in the 55th minute, Dean Healy landed what proved to be the winning score.

Wicklow wing back Kevin Murphy was the only player to pick up a black card.
